Chapter 85: The Herbal Auction
“Huh? What do you mean, Qingxue?” Lin Feng suddenly felt his breathing quicken as her fingertips brushed across his chest, sending a jolt through his body like an electric shock!
“Why didn’t you tell me earlier that you had such a beautiful college classmate? From the way you two interacted, your relationship seems anything but ordinary. Don’t tell me—was she your first love?” Su Qingxue pressed on.
“Qingxue, what are you thinking? We’re just regular friends, you’re misunderstanding,” Lin Feng hurried to explain, but as his gaze inadvertently dropped to Su Qingxue’s chest, he caught a glimpse of creamy skin, and his heart started to race again.
“Qingxue, you’d better get down now, or I’m afraid I won’t be able to restrain myself,” Lin Feng warned her softly. Only then did Su Qingxue realize her chest had been exposed to him; flustered, she quickly covered herself and huffed, “You scoundrel, how dare you look!”
“Swear to me you weren’t lying just now.”
“I swear to the heavens, if I’m lying to you, may I die a terrible death,” Lin Feng declared without hesitation.
Swish!
Su Qingxue quickly pressed her hand over his mouth, a faint smile appearing on her face. “Alright, I’ll believe you this once. But if you dare to lie, just wait and see how I’ll deal with you.”
As she spoke, she balled her delicate fist in mock threat.
Lin Feng smiled, teased her a little, and the two returned to Su’s Bank together.
“What did you say? That kid’s still alive? And even you were defeated by him?”
In a manor, a masked middle-aged man, clutching his chest, was reporting to another middle-aged man.
“Yes, boss. That kid’s strength is formidable. I originally planned to use his father’s name to provoke him, hoping he’d die a more heroic death, but instead I completely ignited his fighting spirit. He left me severely wounded.”
“If we want to deal with him now, we’ll have to send someone even stronger,” the masked man said frankly.
“Not necessarily.” The other man’s gaze was icy as he pondered. “If this kid is truly so capable, perhaps we could bring him over to our side.”
“In a few days, send someone to invite him again. Tell him I’d like to meet.”
“Boss, with his personality, I doubt he’ll agree…”
“If he refuses? Just tell him his father is in our hands. Would he dare refuse then?” The man sneered cruelly, giving instructions to the masked subordinate.
At that, the masked man suddenly understood, hurriedly giving a thumbs-up. “Boss, you’re brilliant as always.”
“Naturally. If you want to win someone over, you have to get to their heart,” the man said, clenching his fist with force.
Time passed quickly. Evening arrived before they realized it. Lin Feng brought Su Qingxue home.
After a long afternoon, Su Qingxue was exhausted. Lin Feng had her lie down on the sofa and began to massage her.
His technique was skillful, and within minutes, Su Qingxue had fallen asleep.
Looking at her slender waist and fair, beautiful legs, Lin Feng couldn’t help recalling the photo she’d sent him last night. Instantly, a fire ignited within him, and vivid, inappropriate images flickered in his mind.
But he had his boundaries—Su Qingxue wasn’t his girlfriend yet, much less his wife. How could he indulge such thoughts?
Regaining his composure, he gently carried Su Qingxue to her room, covered her with a blanket, and quietly left.
In his own bedroom, he silently recited a calming mantra and entered a meditative state.
After today’s fight, he had a clear sense of his own strength. The master-level opponent he’d faced couldn’t withstand even two moves from him, proof that he was on a higher level—what could be called the Grandmaster realm.
However, he could tell his explosive power wasn’t overwhelming; at best, he was just one tier above that master, at the Grandmaster level. Breaking through to the next stage was impossible with his current cultivation of true energy.
Clearly, finding rare elixirs and miraculous herbs was now an urgent matter.
The next morning, Lin Feng opened his eyes. After a night of cultivation, his depleted energy was fully restored.
As he got out of bed, he felt practically unstoppable.
He was just about to prepare breakfast for Su Qingxue when an unfamiliar call came through. Curious, he answered, and a familiar female voice greeted him, “Good morning, Lin Feng. Are you at home? I need a favor.”
“What’s the matter?” Lin Feng asked curiously.
“Hehe, there’s an herbal auction in Jiangcheng today, and I’ve heard there’ll be some very rare medicinal plants. My dad asked me to attend, but I can’t tell genuine herbs from the fakes. I’d like to invite you to come along,” Zhou Nianying requested. “If you’re free, I’ll come pick you up now.”
“An herbal auction?” The words sparked a sudden inspiration in Lin Feng—perhaps he’d find exactly the rare herbs he needed for his alchemy.
Those were essential for refining pills!
“Alright, I’m free,” he replied after a moment’s thought.
“Great, I’ll be there soon. See you!” Zhou Nianying hung up.
This little girl certainly had good manners! Lin Feng praised her inwardly. Since it was still early, he had plenty of time to make breakfast for Su Qingxue.
He went to the kitchen, using all the ingredients he could find in the fridge, and soon prepared a sumptuous, nutritious breakfast.
Su Qingxue woke just then. As soon as she opened her door, the delicious aroma of vegetable porridge filled the villa.
She rubbed her sleepy eyes, glanced downstairs, and her face immediately lit up with joy.
“Lin Feng, you’re the best! All my favorites!”
She dashed downstairs and, without another word, began eating heartily.
Lin Feng approached her with a smile. “Eat slowly. I’ll be accompanying Miss Zhou to the herbal auction in a bit.”
“Auction?” Su Qingxue’s beautiful eyes blinked, then she pouted, “Fine, you have my permission. But remember to come back early—I still need your help at work.”
“I know. I’ll come find you as soon as I’m done,” Lin Feng said, patting her head just as his phone rang—it was Zhou Nianying.
She was already outside the villa, waiting for him to set out.
After bidding Su Qingxue farewell, Lin Feng stepped outside and saw a brand-new, limited-edition pink Ferrari. Zhou Nianying was dressed in a stylish dress today, exuding elegance.
With her sunglasses on, she looked every bit the international movie star.
Lin Feng approached with delight. “Miss Zhou, shall we go?”
“Lin Feng, you’re here! Please, get in,” Zhou Nianying replied, respectfully opening the door for him. She then dashed to the driver’s seat, hit the gas, and sped away with Lin Feng.
On the way, the scent of her car’s perfume filled the air. Lin Feng turned his head, catching a glimpse down her low-cut dress—an expanse of snowy white instantly sent a rush of blood to his nose.
