Chapter 41: The Poison Gu Master
“Haha, it's true, my legs have really healed.” Bai Tianjiao was overwhelmed with joy, unable to contain his excitement. He stomped his feet, then paced around the room several times. Although his strength wasn't quite what it used to be, walking freely was no longer a problem!
Seeing his son's legs restored, Bai Zhanshan's face lit up with delight. His smile was radiant as he repeated, “This is wonderful! Son, your legs are fully recovered. You'll be just as lively as before.”
“Dad, please send someone to arrest Lin Feng immediately. My legs were ruined because of his treatment. You must avenge me.” Just as Bai Tianjiao regained his mobility, his expression turned cold. He pointed fiercely at Lin Feng and pleaded with his father.
A cold sneer curled on Bai Zhantian’s lips. He smiled indifferently and said, “Don't worry, son. Your grievance is always on my mind.”
“Today, when I brought him here to treat you, I never intended to let him leave in peace.”
“Bai Zhantian, are you planning to go back on your word again?” Lin Feng's brows furrowed coldly, thinking to himself how this old man was truly unreliable, forgetting so quickly how he had begged for help just moments before.
Bai Zhantian gave a cold snort and stared at Lin Feng with a sinister glare. “So what if I change my mind? You really should find out who I am, Bai Zhanshan.”
“You threatened me with my son's life. Did you really think you'd get away with it?”
“To tell you the truth, since I could bring you into the Bai family, I have ways to keep you here forever.”
Lin Feng laughed coldly. “You overestimate yourself. Have you forgotten how your men lost to me at the Su family last time?”
“I remember very well. That's why, this time, I've brought someone you can't handle.” Bai Zhanshan spoke with icy certainty, clapping his hands. The bedroom door swung open, and a figure dressed in black robes entered slowly.
This person’s face was concealed by a black veil, his entire body shrouded in a dense aura of darkness. In his hand, he held a staff shaped like a dragon-serpent, exuding an imposing presence.
The moment he appeared, the entire room was enveloped by a chilling and sinister energy, heavy with threat.
Lin Feng turned to look at him, his brows knitting deeply. Judging by his appearance, the man was around forty or fifty years old. His internal energy radiated visibly—a master, far superior to the previous Bai family bodyguards.
“You, boy, are you the one who caused Young Master Bai’s legs to lose feeling?” The black-robed man’s voice was hoarse and cold as he stared at Lin Feng.
“And who are you?” Lin Feng replied icily.
“Hmph, just a mere boy, and you think you deserve to know who I am?”
As the black-robed man finished speaking, he suddenly struck the ground with his dragon-serpent staff. Several black lines shot across the floor toward Lin Feng. As they neared him, the lines transformed into black snakes, opening their jaws wide and lunging at Lin Feng.
“Nine Heavens Venom Serpents?” Lin Feng’s brows tightened as he recognized the serpents. He now understood—the man before him was a Venom Master.
The Lin family inheritance records described Venom Masters: they raise venomous creatures for a living, are experts in poisons, and excel at using venomous insects to harm others. Each one is a ruthless killer, never hesitating to take a life.
These venomous snakes, fed exclusively on poisonous insects since birth, carried venom far more corrosive than ordinary snakes. Their poison could dissolve metal in an instant.
Even plants and grass withered instantly upon contact.
“Lin Feng, let’s see how you resist this time. No matter how capable you are, you can’t escape Master He’s grasp.” Bai Zhanshan watched as Lin Feng was surrounded by the venomous snakes, his lips twisting into a cruel smile.
Bai Tianjiao was overjoyed. Seeing Master He’s formidable skill, he was certain Lin Feng was doomed. He had only heard rumors of his father’s association with a ruthless Venom Master, but had never seen him in person.
Today, witnessing it firsthand, he found the reputation well-deserved.
The black snakes lunged at Lin Feng, fierce and terrifying. Dark mists oozed from their bodies, their fangs dripping with venom—one touch would mean instant death.
“Obedient serpents, devour him for me,” Master He commanded, channeling energy to control the venomous creatures with absolute confidence.
He believed these snakes would surely take Lin Feng’s life.
But what happened next left him stunned.
Lin Feng’s lips curled into a slight smile. With nimble steps, he retreated, and with bare hands, caught two of the attacking snakes.
A flame ignited in his palm, and he burned the snakes alive.
The remaining snakes had no chance to escape. Lin Feng moved swiftly, dodging their attacks in a flash, his palm sweeping fire in all directions.
Any snake touched by the flames shrieked in agony and fell from midair.
Within mere minutes, Lin Feng had dispatched every venomous serpent.
“How...how is this possible?” Master He stammered, unable to believe Lin Feng’s strength.
Who was this young man, that he could defeat his venomous snakes?
And the flame technique just now—what was it? Could he be an ancient martial artist?
“Is that all you’ve got?” Lin Feng dispelled his flames and looked at Master He with disdain.
“You dare kill my cherished venomous pets? I’ll take your life!”
Master He recovered, his fury erupting. He charged at Lin Feng with his dragon-serpent staff, reckless and vengeful.
His moves were bizarre—his staff swept with powerful energy, manifesting black dragons wherever he appeared, their momentum overwhelming.
Bai Zhanshan and his son brimmed with renewed confidence. This move, surely, Lin Feng could not withstand.
Lin Feng was quickly surrounded by Master He’s dark energy, yet he remained calm, unfazed in the center. Red flames began to emanate from his arms; with a quick step, he charged headlong at Master He.
Boom!
The entire room filled with energy.
Their palms clashed, the air exploding instantly, shattering all the bedroom furniture.
Bai Zhanshan, his son, and their servants instinctively retreated, taking cover.
“Young man, what level of power do you possess? Why can’t my venomous energy defeat you?” Master He gritted his teeth, realizing he was gradually losing ground in the exchange.
Lin Feng stayed composed, ignoring him. Suddenly he shouted, “Break!” His palms surged with force, unleashing a wave of red energy throughout the room, blasting Master He backwards.
Master He spat a mouthful of blood, collapsing to the floor. His body suffered multiple injuries, rendering him incapable of further resistance.
Lin Feng calmly withdrew his strike, smiling lightly. “Your skills are limited. The venom you unleashed was potent, but still too weak to harm me.”
“Look at your palms—aren't they stained by the venom? The poison you released—I returned it all to you at the last moment.”
“What?” Master He looked down to find a black haze spreading across his palms. He was poisoned!
This was a venom he only used on others, with no antidote for himself.
He glared furiously at Lin Feng, his eyes cold. “Why did you do this?”
“Hmph. You use venom to harm others, a crime deserving death. And you especially shouldn’t have used venom against my friend.”
Lin Feng stared at him sternly and demanded coldly, “Tell me—was it you who poisoned Su Qingxue’s family? Who put you up to it?”
