Chapter 12: It Was All His Doing
Su Qingxue’s face was full of worry—so the price had finally come! Without a word, she rose and hurried downstairs to explain things to the clients.
When she arrived at the lobby on the first floor, it was packed with customers, all clamoring to withdraw every cent they had deposited in the bank. Even the self-service ATMs had completely crashed.
“Manager Su is here! Hurry and give us back our hard-earned money!”
“We want to withdraw everything we have in here!”
“Everyone, please calm down. Our bank hasn’t closed; today is just a minor issue. It won’t take long for things to return to normal,” Su Qingxue explained to the crowd, holding a megaphone.
For a moment, the crowd quieted.
A middle-aged man spoke up angrily, “Don’t try to fool us. If the bank hasn’t closed, why would all your staff go on strike?”
“I bet you can’t even pay your employees anymore. Our money’s gone too, isn’t it? Give it back, or we’re not leaving!”
“Yes, give us our money now!” Others raised their fists, protesting loudly.
For a moment, Su Qingxue’s ears felt deafened; she didn’t know what to do. No one believed a word she said.
“Everyone, please don’t panic. I guarantee this bank won’t collapse,” came a calm voice. Lin Feng descended the stairs, stood beside her, and smiled at the crowd.
“You guarantee it? What gives you the right?” scoffed the middle-aged man.
“Evidence, of course,” Lin Feng replied coolly, pointing to the man’s pocket. “Do you dare turn out your pocket and show everyone?”
“With your status, you shouldn’t be able to get a platinum member credit card from Su’s Bank.”
At those words, the crowd was stunned.
The platinum card from Su’s Bank was reserved only for those with power and influence, and required deposits of tens of millions. Ordinary people could never obtain one.
The middle-aged man before them, dressed plainly, could not possibly possess such a card.
Su Qingxue was just as puzzled. As far as she knew, she was acquainted with all the platinum members of Su’s Bank, and this man was certainly not one of them.
“What nonsense are you talking? How could I possibly have a platinum member card?” The man’s face turned pale, and instinctively he clutched his pocket, refusing to show its contents.
Lin Feng looked at him with disdain and casually waved his hand. Suddenly, the man’s hand lost control, and the platinum card fell out of his pocket, along with a letter.
The crowd gasped in astonishment.
As the man rushed to retrieve them, Lin Feng was quicker. He picked up the card and letter, opened the letter and read it, then smiled slightly. “It seems the truth is clear now.”
“Everyone, look! This letter was deliberately given to him, instructing him to cause trouble at Su’s Bank, and the platinum card was also provided by that person.”
“What? What’s going on? Isn’t this man a customer?”
“He was the one spreading rumors about the bank’s closure just now. Was he hired? Did we all get played?”
People exchanged confused glances, murmuring among themselves.
The middle-aged man grew increasingly uneasy, his eyes darting about—he hadn’t expected things to turn out like this.
Lin Feng grabbed the man’s collar and demanded sternly, “Are you still not going to tell the truth? Who gave you the letter and the card? Who sent you here to stir up trouble?”
“I—I…” The man broke out in a cold sweat, his mind racing for an excuse.
Lin Feng smiled calmly and continued, “If you don’t fess up, I’ll call the authorities right now and have the officials take you away.”
“No, please don’t call them! I’ll talk. It was Su Shifeng, President Su, who gave me these things. He told me to come here and say the bank had collapsed, to bring people and make trouble. The card was my reward,” the man confessed after a moment’s hesitation.
Su Qingxue’s eyes widened in shock. So it was Su Shifeng’s doing after all.
That scoundrel—truly despicable!
“Well, now everyone understands, don’t they? This was nothing but a farce, orchestrated by Su Shifeng to create the illusion of the bank’s collapse and lure you all here to cause a scene.”
“Su’s Bank is operating normally. Don’t believe rumors; your money here is perfectly safe,” Lin Feng assured the crowd.
Suddenly enlightened, the customers nodded in understanding and began to berate the middle-aged man. Some couldn’t help themselves and swung punches at his face.
Beaten and pinned to the ground, the man never raised his head, unable to defend himself or face the crowd.
Once matters were settled, Su Qingxue had staff call all the employees who had gone home to rest, urging them to return to work with double pay.
Upon hearing such good news, the staff were back within half an hour, excitement in their step.
The bank swiftly returned to normal order.
Meanwhile, outside the bank, a furtive figure watched as everything returned to normal, a cold gleam flashing in his eyes.
He hadn’t expected today’s plan to fail completely!
That Lin Feng—truly difficult to deal with.
His eyes shifted. Seizing a moment when no one was watching, he slipped into a car and returned to the Su family villa.
Upon seeing Liu Faron, he fell to his knees with a thud and wailed, “Mother, you must stand up for me! Lin Feng hit me again, and Su Qingxue mocked me, saying I don’t deserve the Su family fortune.”
“She doesn’t respect you at all. You must avenge me—teach that girl and that Lin Feng a lesson!”
“What? They went that far?” Liu Faron’s fury rose as she saw Su Shifeng’s broken arm. She slammed the table fiercely. “That wretched girl has gone too far—how dare she disrespect me?”
“Don’t worry, Feng’er. I’ll settle the score with them.”
“Hello, Mother? What is it?” Su Qingxue had just returned to her office when she received a call from Liu Faron.
Liu Faron’s tone was icy and commanding. “Su Qingxue, you’re getting bold. Relying on an outsider, you don’t even respect me anymore? Get back here immediately!”
“But Mother, it’s just—” Su Qingxue began to explain, but the call was already cut off.
Seeing her worried expression, Lin Feng asked curiously, “Was it Aunt Liu? What did she say?”
“She found out we hit Su Shifeng. Now she wants me to go home,” Su Qingxue replied anxiously, pouting.
“Oh, so it’s just a minor thing. Don’t worry, I’ll go with you,” Lin Feng said gently, placing a reassuring hand on her shoulder.
Su Qingxue felt a sense of inexplicable security from Lin Feng, met his gaze deeply, and blushed with shyness.
“Alright,” she murmured, cheeks reddened, then left with Lin Feng, taking the car home together.
