Chapter 77: Bark Like a Dog for Me

Soon after, the flamboyant woman arrived before Xu Shaojie, carrying bags full of jewelry, her satisfaction evident. “Brother Jie, I’ve finished shopping. It cost a total of three million eight hundred thousand.”

“That’s more than enough.”

Xu Shaojie turned proudly, looking at Lin Feng. “Lin Feng, I’m done shopping—three million eight hundred thousand worth. What about you? Even if you max out your credit cards, you won’t get ten or twenty thousand. Competing with me? You’re not qualified.”

“Since you’re finished, then pack up all the remaining jewelry for me,” Lin Feng said, directly addressing the manager of the jewelry section, ignoring Xu Shaojie entirely.

The whole place fell silent instantly. Everyone’s jaws dropped, round and wide, doubting their own ears.

Was this guy insane? There were at least ten thousand pieces of jewelry here, and he wanted all of them?

Xu Shaojie burst out laughing, unable to resist mocking him. “Ha! What nonsense are you spouting? All the jewelry? Why not just buy the entire mall?”

“That’s not out of the question, but I have no reason to buy the whole mall for the sake of one fool.”

“Who are you calling a fool?” Xu Shaojie’s temper flared, his fists clenched, ready to strike, but remembering the wager, he restrained himself, sneering coldly. “I won’t stoop to your level. If you really have the guts, pay up now. If you can actually afford it, I’ll not only bark like a dog and eat garbage, but I’ll take your surname and call you grandfather.”

“I don’t need such an unfilial grandson.”

Lin Feng sneered dismissively and turned to the manager. “Go ahead, swipe my card.”

“Sir, are you certain you want it all?”

The manager could hardly believe it. If this sale went through, her commission could support her for half a lifetime. It was beyond her wildest dreams.

Lin Feng shrugged, disdainful. “Do I look like I’m joking?”

“Very well. Please wait a moment, sir.”

The manager carefully took Lin Feng’s card and went to the cashier.

According to the system, the remaining jewelry was worth over ninety million—almost a hundred million. Few in the city could afford that kind of money.

The crowd watched, full of anticipation, convinced that Lin Feng would not be able to pay.

But!

After a brief operation, the cashier’s printer let out a series of beeps. Everyone was stunned.

“Payment successful? Is this young man a hidden billionaire?”

“This is incredible! With so much jewelry, it must have cost tens of millions!”

“Sir, I’ve completed the transaction for you, a total of ninety-six million,” the manager said, respectfully returning the card with both hands.

“Thank you for your trouble.”

Lin Feng took back his card and looked at Xu Shaojie. “Xu Shaojie, are you ready to admit defeat? Do you still want to compete with me?”

“No way, this is impossible! How could you possibly afford this?”

“You must be conspiring with the manager to trick us!”

Xu Shaojie was full of disbelief, grabbing the receipt from Lin Feng and examining it closely—only to find it was genuine.

He was utterly dumbfounded.

The crowd, too, stared in shock.

“Bark like a dog! Bark like a dog!”

Soon, the audience began to heckle, shouting at Xu Shaojie.

Xu Shaojie was visibly uneasy, his eyes darting around, unsure what to do.

“Xu Shaojie, please, I’ve never seen you bark like a dog. I’m quite looking forward to it,” Lin Feng said, arms crossed, smirking coldly.

“You… You just wait!” Xu Shaojie snapped, refusing to honor his promise. Instead, he pulled out his phone and called his uncle.

His uncle was the mall’s general manager. If he intervened, Xu Shaojie was sure the matter could be settled.

“Hello, uncle, are you in the mall? I’ve run into some trouble here, could you help me out…”

Xu Shaojie explained the situation over the phone. His uncle listened, his face growing ever more shocked.

Just before Xu Shaojie called, the mall chairman had phoned him, instructing him to give special treatment to a certain customer, to treat him with the same respect as himself.

And that customer matched Xu Shaojie’s description almost exactly.

After hanging up, he hurried toward the jewelry section without hesitation.

Xu Shaojie’s arrogance returned, his gaze cold as he stared at Lin Feng. “Lin Feng, do you really think your scheme will work? My uncle is the general manager here—I’ve already called him. If you apologize and bow to me now, there’s still time. Once he arrives, you’re finished.”

“Which one of you is Mr. Lin?” a stern man in a suit approached from across the room, addressing the crowd.

Before Lin Feng could reply, Xu Shaojie rushed over enthusiastically. “Uncle, you’re here! Please help me get revenge—this guy just made a fool of me and wants me to bark like a dog.”

“What’s his name?” the general manager asked gravely.

“He’s Lin Feng,” Xu Shaojie replied.

Crack!

A sharp slap rang out!

Xu Shaojie was knocked to the ground, stars spinning in his eyes. It took him a moment to recover, bewildered. “Uncle, why did you hit me? The one who bullied me is Lin Feng.”

“Shut up!” Xu Weiqiang glared at him, his expression icy. “You should look in the mirror and see who you are—how dare you offend Mr. Lin?”

“Do you know who he is? Even I must show him respect, and you dare treat him with disrespect?”

“Wha—what? Uncle, why are you afraid of him? He’s just a penniless nobody…”

Crack!

Another slap, even harder.

Xu Weiqiang’s lips twitched with anger. “I warn you, if you speak disrespectfully to Mr. Lin again, I’ll throw you out, and you’ll no longer be my nephew.”

“Ah? Uncle, I—I was wrong!”

Xu Shaojie’s heart skipped a beat. He realized things were not so simple and quickly apologized.

Xu Weiqiang hurried over to Lin Feng, bowed deeply, and said, “Mr. Lin, this is all my fault. I had no idea you would grace us with your presence and failed to welcome you properly. Please forgive me.”

“Do I know you?” Lin Feng asked, puzzled.

“Mr. Lin, you are our Chairman Long’s elder brother. Even if we had ten thousand times the courage, we would never dare treat you with disrespect. Chairman Long has instructed us—all the jewelry you just purchased is yours free of charge, and we’ll deliver it to your home. If you need anything else, please tell me. If it’s within my power, I will make it happen,” Xu Weiqiang said respectfully.
