Chapter 128: Who Hurt My Son
The entire room was struck by a simultaneous wave of shock. They stared at Lin Feng in disbelief, stunned that he would dare to treat the young master of the Yan family so brutally. Had he lost his mind? The Yan family from the provincial capital was not a force to be trifled with, and no one in all of Jiangcheng had ever possessed such audacity.
Even Su Qingxue looked at Lin Feng with profound astonishment. She had thought she would never see him again, never expecting him to come to her rescue.
"Big brother, I was wrong! Please, spare me. I will never bully anyone again," Yan Jiangbo pleaded, his earlier arrogance replaced by tears streaming down his face as he begged for mercy.
Lin Feng looked at him with utter contempt and sneered, "Do you know where you went wrong?"
"I do. I shouldn't have harassed your friend. I was blind and failed to recognize a true master. As long as you let me go, I will do anything," Yan Jiangbo wailed miserably.
"Fine. Then find a knife and cut that thing of yours off, and I will let you go," Lin Feng said coldly.
"What?" The onlookers were shocked once more.
Yan Jiangbo stood frozen, his eyes wide with horror. As he regained his senses, he began kowtowing to Lin Feng. "Brother, I truly know my mistake. Please, stop joking with me. That is my lifeline! I'm still counting on it to carry on the Yan family line."
"Carry on the family line? You're dreaming. I'll give you two choices: either do it yourself, or I'll do it for you," Lin Feng said, his expression emotionless.
"I... I..." Yan Jiangbo’s eyes darted around. Neither choice offered a way out. It seemed this guy was determined to be his nemesis.
The surrounding crowd remained silent, holding their breath in fear, thinking that this man was truly fearless, showing no concern for the Yan family's retaliation. In all of Jiangcheng, he was the only one daring enough to do this.
"Haven't decided yet? Then I suppose I'll have to do it for you." Lin Feng turned his head and ordered the bar manager, "Get me a knife."
"Yes, yes." The manager, drenched in cold sweat, did not hesitate. He fetched a knife and handed it over with trembling hands.
After taking the blade, Lin Feng turned back with a chilling gaze. With a swift, decisive motion, he slashed down, severing Yan Jiangbo’s manhood in an instant. Blood sprayed across the air.
"Ah!" Yan Jiangbo clutched his groin and collapsed to the floor, curled up in agonizing pain, his face turning deathly pale.
Lin Feng tossed the knife aside and walked straight to Su Qingxue. "Are you alright? I'm sorry you were wronged."
"Lin Feng, have you forgiven me?" Su Qingxue looked at him with longing, her heart racing.
Lin Feng nodded slightly. Just as he was about to speak, Fang Huihui returned from the direction of the restroom. Seeing Yan Jiangbo on the floor, she feigned shock. "What happened here? Young Master Yan, why are you bleeding? You’ve been far too careless." She turned to the crowd, "Did any of you see what happened?"
"We..." The people around exchanged glances. Seeing the cold look in Fang Huihui's eyes, they all shook their heads in unison, pretending to know nothing.
Yan Jiangbo was livid, pointing at them and shouting, "You—you bunch of blind fools! How dare none of you testify for me!"
"Young Master Yan, what kind of testimony do you expect from them? You’d better come with me. Once we get to the precinct, there will be someone there to help you testify." Fang Huihui walked up to him, hauled him up, and led him away. Before leaving, she exchanged a knowing look with Lin Feng, who understood immediately that he now owed her a favor.
After leaving the bar, Lin Feng put Su Qingxue in the car and headed straight for the Su family villa. Su Qingxue stared at him, seemingly wanting to say something, but seeing his cold expression, she lost her nerve and swallowed her words.
A moment later, she lowered her head and whispered, "Lin Feng, it was my fault tonight. I shouldn't have doubted you."
"It's in the past. No need to bring it up again," Lin Feng replied flatly.
"Really? Then, can you stay and sleep with me tonight?"
"Hmm?" Lin Feng looked at her, puzzled.
She panicked and quickly explained, "Don't misunderstand. That's not what I meant. I just meant... I just want you to keep me company tonight, not the way you think."
"Fine." Lin Feng agreed without further argument.
He felt that Fang Huihui was right; he had been too extreme earlier. If Su Qingxue didn't care for him, why would she be out drinking alone, nearly getting into trouble? This foolish woman was truly someone worth worrying about.
They soon arrived home. Su Qingxue held Lin Feng's hand tightly even while washing up, fearing she might lose him again. Lin Feng indulged her, and after she finished, he returned to the bedroom and tucked her in. With him by her side, a smile graced her face even in her sleep.
Unknowingly, Lin Feng drifted off to sleep leaning against the headboard. He didn't take the incident with Yan Jiangbo to heart; the Yan family was not a threat he considered significant.
However, the arrest of Yan Jiangbo was a massive humiliation for the Yan family. When the family head, Yan Licheng, heard the news, he flew into a rage and slammed his desk. "Who is so bold as to touch my son? In a tiny place like Jiangcheng, how dare someone disregard my Yan family?"
"Master, calm down. I’ve learned it was some reckless youth in Jiangcheng. Not only did he beat the young master in the bar, but he also... severed his manhood. I have already sent men to retrieve him."
"Investigate! Dig up everything about that boy's identity. I want his entire family to vanish from Jiangcheng," Yan Licheng commanded viciously.
"Rest assured, Master. I will uncover everything. No one associated with that boy will be spared."
Just then, the subordinate received a call from Pang Deqing of the Jiangcheng Integrity Bank. He answered immediately, "Old Pang, what is the situation over there?"
"Don't worry, Master Feng. I've sent people to pick up Young Master Yan. He didn't commit a major offense, so it shouldn't take much effort to bring him back," Pang Deqing said respectfully, adding, "As for tonight's incident, it was my oversight. I hope Director Yan won't let this unpleasantness affect the cooperation between our two houses."
"Hmph. If the young master returns unscathed, you have no responsibility. But if you cannot bring him back, I see no reason for our Huali Pharmaceutical Group to continue our partnership with your bank." Yan Licheng’s subordinate hung up coldly, leaving the pressure squarely on Pang Deqing.
"What a bunch of jerks," Pang Deqing complained innocently. "It’s not like I’m the one who caused their son to be arrested. Why should I take the fall?"
"Director Pang, this is bad! The precinct refuses to release him," a subordinate rushed in to report.
