Chapter 23: The Five Elements Needles
Thud, thud, thud! Dozens of bodyguards from the Bai family advanced in unison, closing in on Lin Feng.
Lin Feng’s expression was filled with contempt. In this critical moment, he suddenly chuckled, stepped forward, and said, “Old Bai, your son’s life is hanging by a thread, and you’re still trying to settle scores with me here?”
“I’m not afraid to tell you—your son is suffering from syphilis. His condition is already incurable, and at best he won’t live past today. In this world, I’m the only one who can save him.”
“If you beg me now, I might still be willing to save his life. Otherwise, he’s doomed to die today.”
“Hmph! Boy, do you think scaring me like this will save your own skin?” Bai Zhenshan sneered coldly, mocking him. “You’re just trying to buy time, hoping I’ll let you off.”
“I’m telling you, here in Jiang City, no one who dares to cross the Bai family has ever survived. You’re dead today, boy.”
“Chairman Bai, something’s wrong—there’s been an incident with the young master!”
Before he could finish, a doctor suddenly called, delivering the grim news about Bai Tianjiao.
“What did you say? My son is beyond saving? How can this be? Didn’t he just have some minor injuries? What are you people even doing?” Bai Zhenshan’s face twisted in panic as he hurriedly interrogated the person on the other end.
“The truth is, Young Master Bai has long suffered from syphilis. He simply forbade us from telling you. Now the disease has flared up, and he’s critically ill. We’ve used the best medicine, but nothing works. He most likely won’t live past today.”
As the doctor explained the cause, Bai Zhenshan’s mind went blank; he nearly fainted.
Lin Feng sneered. “Now do you believe whether I was telling the truth? Are you still going to let them attack me? If anything happens to me, your son won’t survive either.”
“Boy, do you really have a way to cure my son?”
Bai Zhenshan, panic-stricken, turned to Lin Feng.
Lin Feng shrugged, his tone dismissive. “Of course I do. But whether I’ll help depends on my mood.”
“Right now, have them withdraw immediately, and publicly announce that the marriage agreement between the Su and Bai families is nullified, and that you’ll cease troubling the Su family. Then I might consider treating Bai Tianjiao.”
“Fine, I agree. As long as you can save my son, I’ll leave the Su family alone.” Bai Zhenshan agreed without hesitation.
As soon as these words were spoken, a hint of joy flashed across Su Qingxue’s face. She hadn’t expected Lin Feng to actually free her from the engagement.
She trusted Lin Feng’s medical skills implicitly; if he said he could save someone, then he certainly could.
But the other members of the Su family were filled with doubt. None of them knew if Lin Feng could really save him. If anything happened to the eldest young master of the Bai family, the Su family would be doomed.
“Boy, come with me now. I’ll give you this chance.”
Bai Zhenshan, regaining his composure, personally invited Lin Feng to get into the car.
However, Lin Feng showed no intention of obeying. He smiled calmly and said, “You want me to treat your son, yet you expect me to go with you?”
“Within ten minutes, bring him here in front of me, and I’ll treat him. Otherwise, everything I just promised is void.”
“What? You—”
Bai Zhenshan was so furious he bared his teeth. This brat dared to threaten him?
The Su family was also shocked by Lin Feng’s words. Chairman Bai himself was willing to give him a chance, yet Lin Feng was making demands instead of seizing the opportunity.
Utterly reckless!
Lin Feng glanced at his watch and sneered, “Nine minutes left, Chairman Bai. You’d better make your choice quickly.”
“Fetch Tianjiao from the hospital and bring him here.”
After a moment’s hesitation, Bai Zhenshan suppressed his anger and followed Lin Feng’s instructions.
The entire Su family was stunned on the spot!
No one expected Bai Zhenshan to actually give in.
Eight minutes later, an ambulance sped over from the hospital. Several paramedics carried a stretcher from the vehicle, bringing Bai Tianjiao right before Lin Feng.
When everyone saw Bai Tianjiao’s condition, they were all horrified.
His skin was already rotting in several places, his face pitted and ravaged, looking no different from a zombie. His gaze was vacant, his whole body trembling; he couldn’t even speak.
Lin Feng looked at him and couldn’t help but mutter to himself, “He brought this on himself. Thankfully, Qingxue didn’t marry someone like you, or she would have suffered for a lifetime.”
“Boy, aren’t you going to start the treatment? If anything happens to my son, I’ll hold you responsible!”
Bai Ding Shan hurriedly urged, unable to bear his son’s wretched state.
Lin Feng smirked in disdain, crouched down, and took Bai Tianjiao’s pulse, giving him a thorough diagnosis. “Prepare silver needles for me. His illness has invaded his organs; if he isn’t treated within five minutes, he’ll die for sure.”
“Get the silver needles!”
Without hesitation, Bai Ding Shan ordered the paramedics to bring over the silver needles.
Lin Feng took the needles, disinfected them with practiced skill, then pulled open Bai Tianjiao’s clothing. With his left hand, he located the acupuncture points; with his right hand, he inserted the needles swiftly and smoothly.
The first needle went in, and Bai Tianjiao’s face twisted in agony, his expression contorting with pain, white froth seeping from the corners of his mouth.
At the second needle, Bai Tianjiao’s face darkened, his symptoms not easing at all. Instead, a mouthful of black blood gushed out violently!
Instantly, panic seized everyone present.
Bai Zhenshan was beside himself with worry, glaring angrily at Lin Feng. “Boy, do you really know what you’re doing? Why are his symptoms getting worse?”
“Don’t interrupt me while I’m treating him. These are normal reactions,” Lin Feng replied sternly, his hands continuing to work.
He inserted several more needles in quick succession, targeting acupoints such as Taichong, Xiaoyang, and Dayang. His needlework was so rapid and deft that no one could follow his movements.
This technique, known as the Five Elements Needle, was specifically for treating syphilis. Unfortunately, it had been lost for over a century, and only Lin Feng could wield it today.
With each needle, Bai Tianjiao’s complexion changed slightly.
When all nine needles were in place, the vomiting of blood stopped, and the decaying flesh began to heal rapidly, as if by magic.
Everyone present was dumbfounded by the miraculous sight!
Especially Bai Ding Shan, who rubbed his eyes in disbelief and looked at his son again, only to find it was all real!
Bai Tianjiao’s face was now restored to a healthy flush, the pain completely gone, and his mind gradually clearing.
“Son, how do you feel now? Any better?” Bai Ding Shan rushed to his son’s side, studying him with astonishment.
“Dad, I feel much better. What happened to me? What just happened?”
Bai Tianjiao seemed not to remember the ordeal, glancing at the Su family, then at Lin Feng, his expression suddenly darkening.
He pointed angrily at Lin Feng and snarled, “Dad, it was him! He’s the one who injured me. You must get revenge for me!”
“Tianjiao, calm down. Of course I’ll avenge you. Anyone who dares offend our Bai family will pay dearly,”
Bai Ding Shan’s lips twisted into a cold smile, his tone instantly turning icy, a far cry from his earlier supplication.
Lin Feng frowned, looking at him seriously. “Old Bai, are you thinking of going back on your word? Just now you promised that if I saved your son, you’d stop troubling the Su family and call off the engagement.”
“Heh, who do you think you are, boy? You think you can bargain with me?”
Bai Ding Shan sneered dismissively, glaring coldly at Lin Feng. “You really think saving my son means I’ll dance to your tune?”
“You’re dreaming. Today, neither you nor the Su family will escape.”
