A Few Words from Xiao Bei's Heart

Everyone, there is something I have been wanting to say for a long time. Earlier, I mentioned in the review section that I would release four chapters today, but I won't be able to do it. I am sorry, I spoke too rashly.

The follower count for this book has now dropped to just over nine hundred. Those of you who don't believe me can check Qidian Data Network and search for "Otherworld Live Broadcast Room" to see my exact numbers.

If the book goes live for subscription with this follower count, my average subscription rate will probably not exceed fifty. An average subscription of fifty means only fifty people are subscribing. A single chapter costs just ten cents, and even if I wrote ten thousand words a day—which is five chapters—a single person would only give me fifty cents a day. From fifty people, that's only twenty-five yuan.

Furthermore, I have to split that evenly with the website, meaning I would only make a dozen yuan a day, three to four hundred a month. With the full-attendance bonus included, my monthly royalty wouldn't even reach one thousand yuan.

What can you do with one thousand yuan? Electricity costs around two hundred a month, phone bills take another thirty or forty, plus water bills. Add to that food, daily necessities, and mobile plan fees, one thousand yuan would barely last half a month, and that's living extremely frugally.

I have a family—parents, a grandfather, and a younger sister who is only a few years old. In the future, I will have to support all of them by myself. Relying on a monthly royalty of one thousand yuan, I might as well just drop dead right now.

What's worse, with the book performing this poorly, the editor might not even allow it to go live for subscription. That would be a complete tragedy for me.

Therefore, I have decided to start a dual-book setup and update two books simultaneously! My new book is being conceptualized together with two of my best bro-friends. It is tentatively set as an urban genre, and the three of us will venture into it together.

It will still be on Qidian, though I'm not yet sure if I'll use the pen name "Senbei Eats Oysters," hehe.

Although I often cut short my updates and break promises, this book has never missed a single day of updates! I dare swear on my little buddy for this!

The new book might launch next month. I need time to brainstorm, outline, and stockpile chapters, which is why I cannot push out explosive updates for "Otherworld Live Broadcast Room." I can only guarantee that I won't miss a day of updating—assuming I don't drop dead first.

Now that I've poured my heart out, I feel much lighter. To the brothers who were looking forward to my massive update today, I am truly sorry.

As for the user named "Brainless Idiot in the Book," who said that if I didn't break my update streak today, you would call me Daddy—well, you can go ahead and call me Daddy now. Hmph!
