Chapter 84: Trying to Be Shameless with Me?
At this perilous speed, the two cars were truly like lightning. About ten seconds later, they reached a stretch that rose gently rather than sharply, a little hill the road had to cross.
And it was right then that the Ferrari edged past him.
But the moment he saw the slope ahead, Mu Han braked at once. At such speed, if he did not slow down, the car would surely take flight, and the tremendous impact on landing would almost certainly flip it over.
That was Mu Han’s judgment, so he slowed. He believed the Cayenne he had just passed would do the same.
Yet the silver Cayenne showed not the slightest sign of slowing. Just as one wheel of the Ferrari had pressed onto the foot of the hill, the silver Cayenne actually sprang straight into the air.
"Aaah!"
Suspended above the ground, Song Wenwen screamed at the top of her lungs, her arms spread wide. It was damn thrilling.
"Madman!"
Mu Han muttered in disbelief. At the same moment, the Ferrari climbed the slope, shifted up at once, and accelerated.
But by then the Cayenne had already shot far ahead, and now it was rapidly dropping toward the ground.
"It’s going to be a wreck, and someone’s going to die..." Mu Han said softly, though he was still accelerating.
At that moment, Zhang Xiaofan was utterly focused. While the car was airborne, he lightly tapped the brakes and kept shifting gears, slowing the wheels’ rotation while controlling it with precise rhythm.
The instant the wheels touched the ground, he slammed the accelerator again. As if he had calculated everything to perfection, that burst of power actually absorbed most of the shock of landing.
Then the silver Cayenne shot forward like a bolt of lightning, truly miraculous.
Zhang Xiaofan accelerated again. The car’s speed surged straight to three hundred and fifty kilometers per hour, and with the momentum of its charge, it might even have exceeded that, reaching three hundred and sixty.
By now, the Ferrari behind them still had a considerable distance to cover.
Ahead, cheers were already visible. The finish line was near.
At the starting place from before, now the finish area, those men and women in bizarre clothes were smoking cigarettes and drinking beverages as they huddled together, discussing something.
"Xiao Wa, who do you think will win?" said a silver-haired fellow with an earring.
"What a stupid question," said the one called Xiao Wa. "With Car God Mu Han here, and with Young Master Xu’s Ferrari Raphael, which has a second-stage booster installed, winning against that Cayenne will be easy."
"True enough. In that case, Young Master Xu gets what he wanted. Being able to sleep with Song Wenwen—damn, that’s sweet." The silver-haired man clicked his tongue, clearly envious that Xu Changqing would get to bed Song Wenwen.
"Heh. We can always get her drunk later. Even if we can’t have her fully, a few touches would be nice." As Xiao Wa spoke, he wore a lewd expression. Though his girlfriend Shanshan was also a beauty, she was far inferior to Song Wenwen. What man would not want an exceptional beauty?
"You’re not afraid Shanshan will get jealous? Saying that right in front of her?" The silver-haired man looked with a smile at the sultry woman beside Xiao Wa.
"I’ll eat your balls!" Shanshan snorted coldly and cursed outright.
"Heh, my balls are right here. Dare to eat them?" The silver-haired man laughed and tugged at his belt.
"If you’ve got the guts, take them out and see whether I dare." Shanshan wore a mocking look.
That left the silver-haired man somewhat embarrassed. Pulling them out in front of so many people did seem a little awkward.
"Haha, you chickened out, huh? Afraid you’ll expose your little toothpick? Don’t worry, we’re all friends here. Nobody will laugh at you." Xiao Wa laughed heartily.
"You’re the toothpick! Your whole family is a bunch of toothpicks! Mine is a peerless monster, and it’d scare the hell out of you!" the silver-haired man shouted. To have one’s pride trampled by being called a toothpick was a severe blow.
"Then take it out and let everybody see whether yours is a toothpick or not," Xiao Wa said. For rich second-generation playboys like them, such things were nothing at all.
Even if his own girl really ate it, he would not care in the slightest. They were just playing; who was sincere about feelings in a game?
"Hmph, take it out then. I just hope Shanshan won’t dare to eat it!" Angered, the silver-haired man yanked open his belt and pulled down his pants, exposing a dark, ugly thing along with two dangling balls, which he thrust out at Shanshan in provocation.
"It’s just balls. I’ve eaten sheep balls before. What am I afraid of?" Shanshan retorted stubbornly, then strode right up to him and crouched down.
Just as she was about to bite the balls, a thunderous roar split the sky.
Such a roar could only be the Ferrari’s second-stage booster, they thought.
Hearing that deafening sound, Xu Changqing, who had been standing on the car hood, rose to his feet. Like the others, he stared toward the exit.
Then, when he saw the silver Cayenne, everyone was dumbfounded.
At such speed, the car arrived in the blink of an eye. The Cayenne crossed the finish line, and under the shocked gazes of the crowd, it executed a three-hundred-sixty-degree turn, tires screeching against the ground, before coming to a steady stop.
The instant it stopped, the Ferrari also crossed the line. The difference between them was only two seconds.
"The Cayenne actually won..."
The people nearby were astonished. In their eyes, the Cayenne simply could not compare with the Ferrari, especially not with Car God Mu Han behind the wheel. Yet they had not realized that, over the course of the entire race, it had even finished about a minute earlier than the match between Mu Han and Song Wenwen.
In a race like this, a difference of one minute was already terrifying. It showed just how fierce this contest had been, even more intense than the one before.
"Damn it!"
Xu Changqing hurled the cigarette butt from his hand. He simply could not believe that Mu Han had actually lost, and lost while driving his Ferrari.
He could not accept it. Which meant he would not get to sleep with Song Wenwen.
At that moment, Zhang Xiaofan, Song Wenwen, and Mu Han all got out of the cars. Mu Han walked up to Zhang Xiaofan. His expression still carried the astonishment that had not yet faded, but now another emotion had joined it: reverence.
"How did you do it? Can you teach me that driving technique?" Mu Han looked at Zhang Xiaofan and asked fervently. He loved racing, and Zhang Xiaofan’s driving had completely conquered him.
He wanted to learn that technique too, that near-limits driving, almost like divine skill.
The people nearby froze again. Car God Mu Han was asking this man for guidance? What on earth had happened just now? Could this young man’s driving really have reached such a terrifying level?
Zhang Xiaofan merely smiled and patted Mu Han on the shoulder. "Your skills are already very good. It’s just that you met me. And it’s not that I won’t teach you—it’s that my kind of driving is not something you can learn."
"Why not?" Mu Han asked.
"Because I am me, and you are you. You will never become me." Zhang Xiaofan said with a smile.
Mu Han lowered his head in thought, trying to grasp Zhang Xiaofan’s meaning. He felt it was far too profound. Perhaps what Zhang Xiaofan meant was to be oneself and challenge one’s own limits.
Looking at the thoughtful Mu Han, Zhang Xiaofan only smiled inwardly. Had he been showing off a little too profoundly?
Then he walked over to Xu Changqing. The latter still had not recovered from the shock.
"I won. You can smash your car now," Zhang Xiaofan said calmly.
"Are you kidding me? A car worth over twenty million—just because you say smash it, I have to smash it?" Xu Changqing said dismissively, clearly unwilling to honor the bet.
"Heh..." Zhang Xiaofan smiled. "So you mean to go back on your word?"
Then he looked at Song Wenwen. "You see? If I had lost, would you really have gone to sleep with him?"
"Xu Changqing, go to hell! You dare renege?" Song Wenwen flared up instantly. "If you won’t smash it, then I will."
As she spoke, she started toward the Ferrari, her eyes already fixed on a brick nearby.
Zhang Xiaofan grabbed her hand and smiled. "No one has ever dared to play me for a fool. Today, he’s smashing it himself."
With that, Zhang Xiaofan suddenly moved. One hand seized Xu Changqing by the throat and slammed him hard against the hood. Under the force of the impact, Xu Changqing’s face went deathly pale and his breathing grew difficult.
"Smash it or not?" Zhang Xiaofan asked coldly.
Damn it. Trying to play me for a fool? You’re blind if you think I’ll let it slide.
