Chapter 104: Huayue’er’s Thoughts
"Alright then, let's go out for lunch together," Zhang Xiaofan said.
"Great! I'll come get you later," Hua Yue’er replied happily, then cheerfully walked out.
Zhang Xiaofan was puzzled—was there really so much joy in just having a meal?
He glanced at some web pages again, trying to find more information about the Yin-Yang Fish. Soon, it was noon.
At exactly twelve, Hua Yue’er arrived at Zhang Xiaofan’s office. It seemed she had touched up her makeup a bit.
Though Hua Yue’er lacked the aura and beauty of Lin Siyu, she was nonetheless a rare beauty, possessing a tender charm that stirred a protective impulse in others.
She walked in and naturally slipped her arm through Zhang Xiaofan’s, softly saying, "Fan Ge, let’s go eat."
Whether intentional or not, the soft warmth pressed against Zhang Xiaofan’s arm sent his heart racing once more.
He smiled and said, “You’re the one teasing me, so don’t blame me.”
His large hand casually wrapped around Hua Yue’er’s slender waist. She stiffened slightly but quickly relaxed.
After all, being held by someone she liked was nothing to worry about.
Zhang Xiaofan asked, “Xiaoyueyue, where shall we go for lunch?”
Hua Yue’er brightened at the affectionate nickname and replied softly, “There’s a themed restaurant that just opened on the food street near the company. How about we go there?”
Zhang Xiaofan nodded with a smile. “Alright, let’s go there.”
With that, he held Hua Yue’er’s waist and they headed out, his hand lingering mischievously.
Hua Yue’er’s waist was flawless, without a hint of excess flesh.
Feeling Zhang Xiaofan’s touch, her cheeks blushed bright red, yet she didn’t resist. If it weren’t for Fan Ge, she wouldn’t know what fate awaited her.
What harm could a few touches do? Even if Fan Ge wanted more, she would willingly comply.
Just as they neared the door, Hua Yue’er whispered softly, “Fan Ge, it’s not good if someone sees us like this at the company.”
Zhang Xiaofan understood—though President Lin said he didn’t mind, it would surely provoke jealousy if others overheard. Better to be cautious.
He loosened his grip and naturally walked out with her.
Along the way, many people greeted Zhang Xiaofan, and numerous beauties cast flirtatious glances his way.
Since the dismissal of Ji Ba, the head of HR, everyone at Lin Corporation knew how formidable President Lin’s personal bodyguard was.
Moreover, that morning, President Lin had seemed delicate and clingy—anyone could see they were more than just bodyguard and employer; clearly a couple.
Once outside, after ensuring no one from the company was around, Hua Yue’er took Zhang Xiaofan’s arm again, showing an intimate closeness.
Zhang Xiaofan smiled and said, “Xiaoyueyue, I’ve been holding back this restless fire since morning. If you keep this up, I can’t guarantee what I might do.”
Xiaoyueyue giggled, fully understanding what he meant by “restless fire,” then teased, “If Fan Ge wants to, once we get to the themed restaurant…”
Hmm? Zhang Xiaofan was intrigued. Could this themed restaurant have some hidden allure?
Before long, they arrived at the food street and soon found the themed restaurant Hua Yue’er had mentioned.
“Dreaming into a Gentle Haven?”
The name of the restaurant was quite suggestive.
Could this little one have planned this on purpose?
Seeing Hua Yue’er’s flushed face only confirmed Zhang Xiaofan’s suspicions.
“We’re here,” Hua Yue’er said tenderly, gazing at him.
Her look stirred something inside Zhang Xiaofan.
He smiled mischievously and slid his arm around her waist.
Hua Yue’er smiled in return, hugging him tighter. Zhang Xiaofan’s embrace gave her a deep sense of security.
She wished this moment could last forever, but she knew it couldn’t. She was well aware of Zhang Xiaofan’s relationship with President Lin.
All she could do was cherish this rare time together.
The two entered the restaurant, where a beautiful waitress greeted them warmly.
Catching sight of the handsome Zhang Xiaofan, the waitress momentarily froze before asking, “What theme would you like to choose?”
Zhang Xiaofan smiled, “Why don’t you recommend something for us?”
The waitress smiled softly. “The gentleman is handsome and vibrant, and the lady is as beautiful as a fairy. I think you should choose the ‘Heaven and Earth’ theme.”
“Alright, the ‘Heaven and Earth’ theme it is,” Zhang Xiaofan agreed, trusting her recommendation despite not knowing the details.
By now, Zhang Xiaofan realized this restaurant specialized in romantic themes for couples.
Following the waitress, they entered a private room. Though not large, it was rich in atmosphere.
Special mist effects and elegant decor created a fairy-tale ambience—no wonder the theme was called ‘Heaven and Earth.’
The waitress handed Zhang Xiaofan a delicate menu filled with set meals, each named to match the theme.
One dish was called “Fairy’s Dance,” another “King’s Favorite Concubine.” The restaurant definitely had character, and Zhang Xiaofan chose those two.
“To the waitress: We’ll have these two dishes.”
“Very good, sir and miss. Please wait a moment; your dishes will be served within ten minutes,” she said with a slight bow, unconcerned by the subtle glimpse of her curves beneath her low neckline.
She then gracefully retreated and closed the door.
Hua Yue’er took Zhang Xiaofan’s hand and pulled him down to sit.
His hand in hers—soft and smooth—felt incredibly comforting.
Glancing at her slender figure, Zhang Xiaofan felt an urge to reach out and touch her.
“Xiaoyueyue, your choice surprises me…” he murmured, looking into her beautiful eyes.
Her gaze was warm, and after a long look, she softly spoke, “I like Fan Ge, but I know you don’t see me that way. I’m already very happy you’re spending this time with me. I don’t ask for forever—just this lunch, to be with you.”
Moved by her earnest expression, Zhang Xiaofan instinctively wrapped his arm tighter around her waist and said softly, “Are you silly? What’s so great about me? I’m just a flirt.”
Hua Yue’er nestled against him and whispered, “Fan Ge, I like you. And a man as outstanding as you only suits President Lin. I ask for nothing else but to have this lunchtime meal with you.”
“You really are a little fool…” Zhang Xiaofan gently stroked her hair. It was impossible not to be drawn to such a delicate and tender girl.
At that moment, he felt a strange calm, his restless heat subsiding.
Time passed slowly. Hua Yue’er said nothing, quietly resting in his arms.
Soon, the waitress knocked and brought their meals, along with a bottle of red wine. Though modestly priced, it spoke to the restaurant’s thoughtful service.
The two set meals were costly, but it was worth it—a feast for the soul.
“Let’s toast,” Hua Yue’er said softly, rising to open the wine and pour a glass for Zhang Xiaofan, then one for herself. She smiled charmingly and serenely.
“Alright,” he replied, clinking his glass gently with hers before drinking it down.
Hua Yue’er did the same, refilling their glasses. They drank together again.
After two glasses, her cheeks were flushed. She locked the door of the private room, then sat gently on Zhang Xiaofan’s lap, voice tender, “Fan Ge, this noon, I want to be with you, really with you. Is that alright?”
