Chapter 0053: Wounded Pride
Just as Zhang Xiaofan was about to step out onto the balcony for some fresh air, a sudden scream erupted from the bathroom.
“Help!”
It was Lin Sixue’s voice.
Could it be an assassin? The thought flashed through Zhang Xiaofan’s mind. He didn’t have time to consider it further—in his urgency, he yanked open the sliding door and dashed inside.
But upon entering, Zhang Xiaofan was instantly stupefied. There was no assassin, only Lin Sixue herself.
Her face was filled with terror as she stood, staring warily at a small corner of the bathroom.
Zhang Xiaofan nearly coughed up blood in exasperation, his whole body flushed with agitation. Clearly, this little minx had been using the toilet, not even having time to pull up her underwear…
“Hurry up and save me!” Lin Sixue pointed frantically at the toilet, as though she’d seen a venomous snake.
Zhang Xiaofan’s head was spinning so much he could barely register her words.
“Move faster! There’s a snake, kill it—hurry!” Lin Sixue was so frightened she was on the verge of tears.
“Yes, yes… I’ll kill it!” Only then did Zhang Xiaofan snap out of it and glance over.
Damn, sure enough, there was a snake! Quite the capable serpent, too—it must have crawled up from the pipes.
Good grief, that was disgusting just to imagine.
He grabbed the mop nearby and brought it down hard, smashing the snake’s head to pulp.
“All this fuss over a snake? Was that really necessary?” Zhang Xiaofan said. “And could you at least finish dressing? Even if you have a crush on me, there’s no need for such a dramatic approach.”
“Oh my god, you…” It was only then that Lin Sixue realized her state. She hastily pulled up her underwear.
“You pervert! Scoundrel! You actually peeked at me while I was on the toilet!”
Lin Sixue was furious, positively murderous in her rage.
“If you hadn’t screamed for help, would I have come in? Oh mighty Snake, could you please come back to life?” Zhang Xiaofan felt utterly wronged. Women really were impossible to reason with.
“Ah! Another snake!” Lin Sixue shrieked again, for from the toilet bowl, more and more snakes began to slither out.
Terrified, Lin Sixue leaped onto Zhang Xiaofan, her softness pressed tightly against his chest, her long, fair legs gripping his waist like a pair of pliers.
For heaven’s sake! Could you not do this? And in a moment, you’ll probably call me a pervert again.
Why am I so damn unlucky?
But Zhang Xiaofan quickly steadied himself. So many snakes—it was clearly no coincidence. Someone must have done this intentionally, perhaps releasing the snakes from beneath the sewer and using some repellent to drive them upward.
He could see at a glance that these were venomous snakes. If someone happened to be using the toilet and got bitten, the consequences would be unthinkable.
Thank goodness this girl noticed in time.
“Get down, get down. I’m a pervert, a scoundrel—let me go already!” Zhang Xiaofan said, attempting to set Lin Sixue aside.
But Lin Sixue, petrified, clung to him like a gecko, refusing to let go. Compared to the snakes, Zhang Xiaofan seemed far safer.
“Aren’t you a man? There are so many snakes—hurry up and kill them!” Lin Sixue cried.
“Alright, but let’s be clear—you can’t call me a pervert anymore, or I’ll stop helping. And who knows, there might be more snakes in your room,” Zhang Xiaofan replied.
Lin Sixue nodded fervently.
“But I hold grudges, you know. I just saved you and you called me names. So now, if you kiss me, I’ll deal with these snakes,” Zhang Xiaofan bargained.
“How can you be so shameless? You’re despicable!” Lin Sixue protested.
“I’m leaving, then.”
“No, don’t—!”
“So, will you kiss me or not?”
With no alternative, Lin Sixue mustered her courage and planted a quick kiss on Zhang Xiaofan’s cheek.
Not bad—quite soft and moist.
Zhang Xiaofan grinned, then walked over to open a drawer. He recalled there should be some sulfur soap inside, and sure enough, there was.
He took out three bars, placed them in a basin, turned on the tap, and scrubbed furiously to dissolve the sulfur.
“What are you doing?” Lin Siyu asked curiously.
“Big chest, no brains. Don’t you know snakes are afraid of sulfur?” Zhang Xiaofan replied.
“You’re the one with a big chest and no brains!” Lin Sixue retorted.
“I don’t even have a chest.”
…
Zhang Xiaofan was speechless.
“Hurry up, they’re coming!” Lin Sixue cried, panic-stricken. Reflexively, she loosened her grip and nearly slipped off, only to immediately clamp her legs around his waist again.
Zhang Xiaofan thought, Thank goodness my waist is strong, or you’d have snapped me in half.
“Stop yelling. Watch your brother in action,” Zhang Xiaofan said. He then splashed the basin of dissolved sulfur water onto the ground. Instantly, the snakes dared not advance any further, writhing restlessly in their confined space.
“All right. Do you have any alcohol in the house? The higher the proof, the better,” Zhang Xiaofan asked. Killing the snakes one by one would make the bathroom reek of blood.
“We do,” Lin Sixue replied. “You still want to drink at a time like this?”
“Like hell I do—it’s to deal with the snakes,” Zhang Xiaofan shot her a glare.
“I don’t have a little sister,” Lin Sixue said.
“Fine, then think of your big sister.” Zhang Xiaofan gave her another look.
“You’re finished. I’m telling Siyu about this,” Lin Sixue declared.
“Go ahead, I’m so scared,” Zhang Xiaofan taunted. “Now hurry up and get the alcohol. And get off me, unless you’re that obsessed with my body?”
“No, not getting down. Who knows if there are more snakes out there? You’re coming with me,” Lin Sixue insisted, stubbornly shaking her head.
She wriggled uncomfortably.
“Huh? What’s this?” Lin Sixue asked, puzzled. She felt something pressing against her, a strange sensation.
Uh…
Zhang Xiaofan realized what was happening—his body was betraying him. But given he was holding such a stunning beauty, with her ample bosom pressed against him, it was only natural.
“That’s just the mop head, let me move it,” Zhang Xiaofan replied.
But Lin Sixue was sharp; she immediately realized what was going on.
“You liar! You filthy pervert! Admit it, you want me, don’t you?” she accused.
“Want your sister! I’m a normal man—any man would react if you clung to him like this,” Zhang Xiaofan retorted.
“Wow, that’s amazing,” Lin Sixue said innocently, though Zhang Xiaofan couldn’t help but think how devilish she seemed.
Clearly, this girl had never had a boyfriend.
But what did she mean by “impotent”? That was a real blow to his pride.
His gaze roamed brazenly over her body, his large hand pressed against her back, eyes glinting with mischief.
“What are you doing?” Lin Sixue panicked. Was he really going to take her right here?
“Nothing—just proving a point,” Zhang Xiaofan grinned wickedly.
“Oh god, this pervert really does have such thoughts!” Lin Sixue’s eyes widened. This guy was so strong that resisting him would be pointless…
“Right, I heard that’s the most vulnerable spot! Hmph, you asked for this!” Lin Sixue thought, then suddenly reached for Zhang Xiaofan’s most sensitive area.
Whoa! Was she really being this aggressive? Wait—that move could cripple him!
What a ruthless woman!
Zhang Xiaofan immediately grabbed Lin Sixue by her armpits and hoisted her up, her hands still flailing in midair.
“Do you really hate me that much? That’s the ‘family-ending claw’!” Zhang Xiaofan protested, a bit angrily.
“Hmph, serves you right for wanting me,” Lin Sixue pouted.
“I just wanted to show you how manly I am,” Zhang Xiaofan said.
“You jerk! Hurry up and carry me out of here! The snakes are rising up—what if they jump out?” Lin Sixue was tense.
“What’s it got to do with me? Walk yourself,” Zhang Xiaofan said.
“My dear Brother Fan, please carry me out,” Lin Sixue pleaded sweetly, her tone sending shivers down Zhang Xiaofan’s spine.
“Fine, you’ve performed well enough. I’ll do it, just this once.”
Zhang Xiaofan wrapped an arm around Lin Sixue’s slender waist and strode out.
He had just exited the bathroom when he ran straight into Lin Siyu, who was hurrying over.
Lin Siyu, worried about her sister after such a long time in the bathroom, had come to check.
Seeing her sister in Zhang Xiaofan’s arms, Lin Siyu was momentarily stunned.
Wasn’t her sister always annoyed by Zhang Xiaofan? Why was she letting him carry her—worse, clinging to him and refusing to get down? What on earth was happening?
Lin Siyu was utterly bewildered. Had her sister fallen for this little rascal? But even if she had, this was no way for a young lady to behave.
“Sixue, behave yourself—come down at once!” Lin Siyu said sternly.
“Sis, there are snakes—I’m scared!” Lin Sixue cried.
“Snakes?” Just a moment before, Lin Siyu had been deadly serious. But when she saw a snake slithering from the bathroom, she turned pale and leapt onto Zhang Xiaofan as well.
Zhang Xiaofan…
If his body weren’t so sturdy, these two sisters would have flattened him.
“Quick, let’s go! It’s coming!” Lin Siyu looked again, her legs twitching as if to run.
Zhang Xiaofan was speechless. Sister, could you mind your thighs?
These snakes were really something. If they hadn’t come from the toilet, Zhang Xiaofan would have chopped them up for snake soup.
Looks like it was time to fetch his magic tool.
With two girls hanging from him, Zhang Xiaofan didn’t even break a sweat as he dashed to his room.
He opened his travel bag. He’d planned to use alcohol to stupefy the snakes, but that clearly wouldn’t work now.
The bag was something Zhang Xiaofan had brought down from Kunlun Mountain, always carrying it with him. No one would ever guess that this shabby cloth sack held another world inside.
He rummaged through it for a while, then finally smiled slightly.
