Chapter 114: The Missing Undercover Agent Fully Exposed

Lu did not speak to her but instead lowered his head to carefully examine the bomb vest she was wearing. At the center of the vest, a liquid crystal digital display was counting down the seconds.
“Beep, beep, beep...”
Only three minutes remained.
Lu drew a black dagger and gently pried open the casing beneath the electronic timer, revealing hundreds of tangled, intertwined wires inside.
Lu had dealt with similar bomb vests before and knew that only one wire was real; cutting any of the others or forcibly removing the vest from Muxia would trigger the bomb prematurely.
Seeing Lu risk his own safety to find a solution for her, Muxia’s heart was filled with both joy and worry. Her voice trembling with a hint of tears, she said, “Special Agent Lu, don’t bother with me anymore. You should leave now—if you don’t, it will be too late!”
Lu forced calm upon himself, offering a faint smile to reassure her, “Xia Xia, don’t be afraid. I’ve dismantled the same model bomb vest on the Middle Eastern battlefield before.”
Muxia raised an eyebrow, “Really?”
“Of course.”
He had indeed tried before, but had not succeeded. That time, he had been forced to give up with only five seconds left on the timer, helplessly witnessing an innocent life vanish before his eyes.
Now, he was just as uncertain.
Shanshan Lai and Wu Qing arrived at the dock almost simultaneously with Chen Xi’s group. The countdown showed less than a minute remaining, and Lu was still at a loss, unable to find the correct wire to cut.
In frustration, he shouted hysterically, “Don’t come any closer—reverse the vehicles!”
Creak!
Two cars screeched to a halt and quickly backed up several dozen meters.
Before the cars had fully stopped, Chen Xi dashed forward recklessly, shouting sharply, “Get away! You don’t know how to defuse bombs!”
Without hesitation, she shoved Lu aside and then pulled out a pair of needle-nose pliers, carefully parting the chaotic bunch of wires.
10... 9... 8... 7...
The countdown was about to end.
Suddenly, Chen Xi squeezed the pliers tightly.
Snap!
A magenta wire snapped under the pressure.
At the same moment, the incessant beeping finally stopped.
Chen Xi then tore the bomb vest off Muxia and threw it into the sea.
Both Lu and Muxia exhaled deeply in relief.
“Thank God, we’re saved.”
Though Muxia had never met Chen Xi before, she was overwhelmed with gratitude and hugged her, calling out, “Thank you, sister.”

Chen Xi smiled straightforwardly, “Don’t mention it. I mainly saved my brother—saving you was just a bonus.”
Cold sweat had already broken out on Lu’s palms and forehead.
Fortunately, Chen Xi was a master bomb disposal expert; otherwise, Muxia would have likely turned to ashes along with the Apostle Walker.
The Apostle Walker’s hatch showed signs of being pried, but it had not been forcibly opened.
Its security level was among the world’s finest.
Both Lu and Chen Xi were shaken to their core—little did they expect that Hongying Society had already uncovered their identities as agents. This move was undoubtedly a warning directed at Apostle Walker.
At this point, there was no need to continue hiding.
Lu decided to be forthright and invited members of Y6 into Apostle Walker’s main cabin.
“Xia Xia, what happened after you were taken?”
Muxia recounted her ordeal after being captured by Hongying Society.
First, upon awakening, she had seen Ivanka.
Lu’s suspicion was correct—the Maya crystal skull had been taken by her.
What followed was chilling.
They tied Muxia to a research table in a human experimentation lab and placed a strange device on her head.
The device was eerie; its electric waves interfered with her brain nerves and thoughts.
Muxia was essentially hypnotized, becoming a puppet at their mercy.
No matter what Ivanka asked, Muxia would unconsciously answer.
When her consciousness returned, she found herself strapped to the mast of the Apostle Walker, still wearing the bomb vest.
Previously, Muxia had no idea that Lu was an official agent, nor did she know anything about the Apostle Walker.
News about the Apostle Walker was not extracted from her by Ivanka.
Lu asked, “Xia Xia, have you discovered the secret of the crystal skull?”
Muxia nodded, still shaken, and explained, “I dug through legends and records from the Maya era to trace the origins of the crystal skull.”
“Women of Maya descent who implant the crystal skull in place of their own can gain some supernatural power—such as foreseeing the future...”
“That’s the origin of the famous ‘Five Great Maya Prophecies.’”
“After Ivanka hypnotized me, she probably extracted this information from my mind.”
A hiss!
Could the strange and mystical stories about the Maya really be true?
After the group was stunned, Muxia continued, “I suspect Ivanka has already transplanted the crystal skull, which is why the Apostle Walker’s existence is no longer a secret to her.”
Lu said, “The Apostle Walker being exposed is one thing, but if Ivanka really has the ability to foresee the future, then the entire world is transparent to her—that’s a much bigger problem!”
Muxia smiled, “It’s not that serious yet. Implanting the crystal skull requires a long adjustment period; it’s not something you master overnight.”
“Ivanka had the crystal skull transplanted just last night. I estimate her current foresight is limited to Mingzhu City, or maybe an even smaller area.”
Lu let out a long breath, “Still, we can’t be careless. While she’s still in Mingzhu City, we need to catch her as soon as possible.”

Meng Meiren commented, “If she can foresee the future, how do we catch her?”
That was indeed a very thorny question.
If Ivanka could always anticipate the next moves of Apostle Walker and Y6, how could they possibly capture her?
Lu hesitated a moment, then said, “Looks like we have to use the most foolish method.”
“Completely lock down Mingzhu City so she can’t go anywhere, then systematically narrow the perimeter, trapping her like a rat in a cage!”
Wu Qing and Chen Xi both nodded in agreement; that was the only viable plan.
Suddenly, Liu Yiyi screamed from the computer desk, “Our missing undercover agents have all appeared at once, and other spy teams’ operatives have been exposed too—they’re being chased by Hongying Society members!”
Clearly, the undercover agents inside Hongying Society had all been revealed due to Ivanka’s foresight!
Lu immediately ordered, “Split up—Sister and Ying Jie go east, Meiren and Wu Qing go west, Brother and I head north. We’ll go to assist those comrades. We’ll do our best to save as many as possible.”
“Yiyi, you stay here to provide technical support. Y6 brothers will protect you.”
Everyone nodded, “Understood!”
At this moment, the danger level within Hongying Society was growing exponentially. Lu could no longer distinguish between Y6 and Apostle Walker; he had no choice but to unite both groups into a single force.
The noise from the Koenigsegg was too loud and might alert the enemy, so Lu took the passenger seat of Lin Zhongze’s Audi A8 instead.
To the north lay Mingzhu City’s busiest commercial district.
On the bustling pedestrian street, several battered men were running for their lives, chased by hundreds of pursuers.
The same scenes played out in every street and alley across Mingzhu City...
“Brother, I can’t run anymore. Maybe we should turn and fight them?”
“Don’t be foolish. Even if you can’t run, you have to keep going. Hold on!”
Zhang Li and Zhang Bai were brothers.
They joined Apostle Walker together years ago and were sent undercover by Cheng Qimeng.
It had been ten years since they went undercover.
They believed they had hidden their identities deeply all these years, but suddenly, overnight, their cover was blown, and Hongying Society members began hunting them.
The brothers were older now, their stamina much weaker than before.
Their running pace slowed, and the pursuers were closing in—almost at the pedestrian street’s end!
Suddenly, Zhang Bai was tackled by a pursuer from behind. They rolled on the ground twice, and the delay allowed more enemies to surround them.
Zhang Li stopped and turned back to rescue his brother.
Bang!
Someone delivered a fierce flying kick to Zhang Li, knocking him down beside Zhang Bai. The two brothers fell together.
Hongying Society members sneered, “We’ll send you brothers to reincarnate together. Maybe you’ll be brothers again in your next life.”
“Let’s go.”
