Without a doubt, Baldy’s timing in seizing an opportunity was first-rate. The gravity spell was perfectly timed—just as it made the Divine Dragon King’s body falter, the creature managed only to raise its spear in a defensive block. Yet every single one of their attacks landed squarely on its body, erupting in dazzling bursts of light.

“We did it!” Zigu cheered in delight.

Alas, the first generation Divine Dragon King was not so easily defeated. When the light faded, everyone saw the king still standing in place. The wind spear in its hand had vanished, but its body shimmered with flowing, liquid brilliance, like molten glass. Only the spots struck by their attacks bore uneven dents and ridges.

“Its body can repair itself,” Gu Feng’s expression changed as he shouted, “No wonder it’s impossible to kill—what a monstrous ability!”

Watching the wounds rapidly heal, anxiety spread among the group. It was clear that, though their strongest techniques had injured it, in a matter of moments the creature would be fully restored.

“Again!” Baldy roared, “Tenfold gravity spell!”

“Sword Command!” Muto’s Azure Sword hovered above his head, sending a white stream of sword energy straight for the Divine Dragon King’s heart. It was the very technique Master Xiao Yaozi had recently taught him.

“Space, freeze!” Gu Feng solidified the air around the Divine Dragon King.

Once more, the king’s body faltered. Bai Li Lionheart and Xiusi seized the chance, rushing in. From above, Lionheart’s golden sword came down with all its force, severing one of the dragon’s wings, while Xiusi controlled his strength perfectly, driving his sword into the beast’s body and dragging it downward, intent on slicing the king in two. Had the blow gone uninterrupted, the Divine Dragon King would surely have been cleaved in half.

But this was the Divine Dragon King—its resilience far exceeded any human’s. Even as the sword struck, the king found itself trapped by invisible walls, unable to move, and it howled in agony.

Its cry brought a startling sight—a massive pendulum appeared beneath the mysterious crescent moon, swinging with a grating “tick-tock, tick-tock.” As the pendulum swung, all attacks ceased, and the Divine Dragon King began to recover its injuries before their very eyes.

Gu Feng’s face went ashen. He murmured, “The Wheel of Time—it actually uses time magic!”

With a roar, the Divine Dragon King broke free from their attacks during that moment of time-stopping magic. Stretching out its hand, another wind spear materialized. This time, it didn’t attack the group, but instead unleashed a dragon’s breath straight at the crescent moon hanging in the air.

“No!” the Crescent Moon Priestess cried, shooting into the sky and chanting, “Dark Dragon-Breaking Spear, the power of ninety-nine returns as one!” A massive black spear appeared from the void, hurtling toward the Divine Dragon King. Yet the king merely flicked its wind spear, shattering the terrifyingly powerful black spear with ease. With another swing and a sharp crack, the crescent moon shattered, tumbling from the sky.

This crescent moon was a magical artifact refined by the Priestess’ spirit and will. Under its light, her black magic’s power was multiplied. But once it was destroyed, the backlash would bring her grievous harm.

A scream tore from her lips as she plummeted from the sky. The Divine Dragon King paid her no mind, swinging its wind spear at Xiusi and the others. Only Zigu hurried over to catch her, muttering, “You always brag that under the crescent moon, you’re invincible. Why so silent now?” As he spoke, he couldn’t resist squeezing the priestess twice, shamelessly taking advantage.

At this moment, with her spirit heavily wounded, the Crescent Moon Priestess could do nothing about Zigu’s roving hands. She could only glare at him with hatred.

“What’s that look for? Do you like me touching you? Well, in that case, I’ll make myself at home.” His hands wandered even more boldly as he teased, “Dressed so provocatively—doesn’t anyone usually show you affection?” His lewd actions and words nearly made the priestess faint with rage. As one of the Five Great Powers, who had ever dared treat her so disrespectfully? But now, injured and helpless, she could only endure his mockery.

“Damn! That dragon’s really something. So many of us attacking, yet it feels like we’re the ones getting surrounded!” Zigu joked as he fondled the priestess, but his eyes never left the battlefield.

Following his gaze, the priestess saw the others still locked in desperate combat with the Divine Dragon King. In just a few exchanges, Emperor Kalan had been run through the chest by a spear—his fate uncertain. Xiusi’s sword had snapped and his arm was badly wounded, leaving him at a fraction of his strength. Bai Li Lionheart’s flashy golden robe was now in tatters. His golden sword was intact, but his loyal golden lion lay motionless far away, its life uncertain. The lion was both his companion and battle partner; not knowing its fate made him all the more desperate. Now, nine-tenths of their attacks relied entirely on his sword, which had been infused with the life’s work of the Fifth Strongest.

Meanwhile, Muto, Gu Feng, Baldy, and the others fought with all their might. If not for the light whip wielded by the Invincible One, which could at least threaten the dragon, and the Black Dragon guided by the Immortal Cloud who shielded them, Muto and company would have perished long ago. Their power was far below the Five Great Powers, and they were no match for the Divine Dragon King.

The elves, too weak to contribute, could only watch from the sidelines. But among the spectators, one figure stood out: Rudao Xuan, who, even as the group fought for their lives, watched with a detached air of interest.

“Hey, you shameless vixen… Yes, I’m talking to you. Dressed so provocatively, what else would I call you?” Zigu taunted the priestess in his arms. “Comfortable in my embrace? But things are dire—you’re one of our main fighters. How can you rest now?” With that, he pulled a bean from his pocket and popped it into her mouth.

Caught off guard, the priestess swallowed it and snapped, “What did you just make me eat?” Before she could finish, she felt her wounds vanish as if by magic. Astonished, she demanded, “What was that you gave me? It’s incredible!”

Zigu grinned. “Go take care of the Divine Dragon King, and I’ll give you plenty more. Didn’t you want immortality? Just stick with me!” As he spoke, his hand landed with a smack on her behind.

Though furious and ready to retaliate, the priestess remembered the miraculous medicine and, seeing Zigu’s unabashed confidence, stifled her anger and began chanting, unleashing her black magic upon the Divine Dragon King.

But as soon as she attacked, the king let out a sky-shaking roar. Suddenly, seven identical Divine Dragon Kings appeared, each casting different spells and martial techniques—vacuum slashes, airburst bombs, stream arrows, and even the forbidden sword art Lionheart had just unleashed. In an instant, the sounds of flesh and bone rending echoed as Muto, Baldy, and Gu Feng were sent flying, surviving only thanks to the Immortal Cloud’s protection and hurriedly swallowing “miraculous beans” to heal. The three great fighters fared much worse, coughing blood and collapsing, utterly spent.

Even the Invincible One, powered by the Eternal Energy Reactor, was left with broken limbs, grievously wounded. The Immortal Cloud, whose hair was now disheveled, still stood unharmed but wore a grave expression.

Surveying the field of casualties, Muto was suddenly filled with a sense of imminent death. Never had hope for survival seemed so faint…

“Coldface, why aren’t you helping? You think you can outwit the Divine Dragon King?” Gu Feng complained in frustration.

To everyone’s surprise, Rudao Xuan actually nodded. “Why charge in recklessly? The Divine Dragon King is clearly immortal—hurting its body is useless.”

His words chilled them further. If it couldn’t be killed, did that mean they were doomed?

The seven dragon kings merged back into one, preparing to strike again. Rudao Xuan spoke calmly, “Those faking death or lying down—if you don’t want to die, get up and hold the Divine Dragon King back!” As he spoke, he flicked four “miraculous beans” into the air.

Emperor Kalan, caught pretending to be dead, had no choice but to sit up and take a bean. The others, recognizing them as healing medicine, quickly swallowed theirs. Their wounds closed instantly, and the four joined forces once more to contain the Divine Dragon King. The Immortal Cloud guided the Golden Flood Dragon Shears through the air, weaving between attacks to ease the pressure on the others.

“The Divine Dragon King’s power far exceeds anything I anticipated for our dragon-slaying plan. Our first option is to abandon the mission and flee through a rift in space,” Rudao Xuan said calmly.

But before he finished, the Grand Sage interjected, “We cannot leave. The Demon’s Box has already been opened, and the Starry Sky Disk told me the means to subdue the demon is also within the box!”

Gu Feng pondered. “The ‘box’ probably means this magic circle. But what does it mean that the method is also within the box?”

“The Starry Sky Disk can point the way, but it cannot give us the answer.”

“Damn—then what’s the point?” Zigu grumbled.

“This isn’t hard to resolve. Here’s how it is: Our first option is to abandon the mission, but there’s a second—kill the Divine Dragon King!” For once, fervor shone on Rudao Xuan’s face. “But it’s risky. I can’t guarantee success.”

“How much of a chance do you have?” Muto asked.

“About seventy percent.”

“Hell!” Muto cursed. “Seventy percent to kill the Divine Dragon King? What are we waiting for? Let’s do it!”

Baldy echoed, “It’s all or nothing!”

Zigu added, “Say, isn’t the Divine Dragon King a rank higher than a regular dragon? If we bathe in its blood, won’t we become far more powerful? Hahaha!” He was already daydreaming of victory before the battle had even begun.
