The images on the surveillance monitor continued to play...
"Why did you stop moaning? Does it hurt? Am I too much for you, huh?" The faces of the two men twisted with excitement, the room filled with the gasps of Xuezhu and the men’s manic, deranged laughter.
But what was the problem? Wood himself couldn’t make sense of it... Lost in confusion, he suddenly noticed the situation on the monitor take a sharp turn. The man who had been reveling before Xuezhu suddenly shuddered, his face of satisfaction contorting with terror as he shouted, "What are you doing...?!"
As terror overtook his features, he grabbed Xuezhu's head, seemingly trying to push her away. But it was all in vain. Xuezhu’s once delicate, fair face twisted with a malicious gleam, and as a chilling giggle escaped her lips, a trickle of fresh blood and white viscous matter seeped from her small mouth.
Wood’s heart seized. "It’s over! That man will end up a eunuch at best!" he thought. Next, the screaming man curled up on the floor, trembling uncontrollably, his face ashen; more terrifyingly, his eyes rolled up until only the whites showed.
Stranger still, the man behind Xuezhu seemed lost in a trance, oblivious to his companion’s fate, mindlessly shouting as if reaching the peak of ecstasy. Before long, his body shuddered and fell still—Xuezhu turned, seized his throat with one hand, dragged him close, and sank her blood-stained mouth onto him...
In an instant, he met the same fate as his companion, his body convulsing on the floor. But after a while, the two stood up. There was no trace of life in them; their eyes rolled white as they staggered out the door. In the secret room, only Xuezhu’s beautiful, wicked laughter lingered, satisfied and smug, like a wild beast sated after a long, desperate hunger.
Watching this unfold on the monitor, Qiao’er stood frozen in the doorway, mouth agape, her soul seeming to flee her body. Glancing at Xuezhu, who still nestled in Mu Siyu’s arms, she felt a chill run through her, instinctively edging closer to Wood. Even Kong Yangyun was too shocked for words.
Seeing the other three women, blissfully unaware, still clustered around the monster—whether demon or devil—Wood exhaled softly, walked over, and took out two cans of food. Gently, he said, "Xuezhu, you haven’t eaten in a long time, have you? Here, have something to eat first." He handed the cans to her.
Feigning shyness, the witch replied, "Thank you!" and reached out. But Wood suddenly seized her hand, using immense force to hurl her against the opposite wall. At the same time he shouted to the others, "Run!"
As he spoke, Wood had already drawn his high-frequency oscillation blade, standing protectively before the three women. Qiao’er and Kong Yangyun hurried over to join the other three.
"What are you doing?" the three women exclaimed in unison at Wood’s sudden action. But before they could finish, the woman, who seemed about to crash into the wall, pressed her palm lightly against it and floated gently to the ground. The sorrow vanished from her face, replaced by a wicked smile.
"I don’t understand—how did you see through me?" she said, smoothing her long hair. Beneath her ragged dress, glimpses of her body flashed, and she looked utterly at ease, as though everyone present was already in the palm of her hand.
Though this woman appeared alluring, recalling the previous scene, Wood dared not relax for an instant.
"Hehehe, it’s been so long since I’ve seen living people. I wanted to play with you for a while, but you saw through me so quickly—how boring!" she sneered, stepping forward.
Wood immediately moved to intercept, swinging his blade. But to his surprise, the woman’s movements were extraordinary—her feet left the ground, her form drifting and darting like a ghost. Wood couldn’t even touch the hem of her dress. Seeing her cat-and-mouse grin, Wood suddenly flashed to her side, slashing with the high-frequency blade, intending to cut her in two at the waist. Yet she twisted away, losing only a shred of her dress.

Just then, a series of gunshots rang out—Kong Yangyun had fired his submachine gun at the woman. Caught off guard, she was hit several times, blood blossoming from her head, chest, and legs as she collapsed.
Everyone froze in disbelief. Was it really that easy?
Suddenly, Qiao’er cried, "Look!" The Xuezhu who’d been shot in the head now twitched on the floor, her once lifeless eyes regaining their luster. The bullet wounds in her head healed at a visible speed.
Wood felt a chill—never before had he seen a monster survive a headshot, let alone one who seemed to possess the power of resurrection. He had no idea where her true weakness lay. Shouting, "Get out, now!" he lunged forward, aiming to destroy her head.
But he was a moment too slow. The woman had fully recovered, kicked Wood’s wrist, and floated in midair, her murderous aura chilling everyone in the room.
"How dare you, how dare you harm my body! I’ll kill you all!"
With a roar, her long black hair seemed to writhe of its own accord, and her dainty red lips parted to reveal two sharp fangs on both upper and lower jaws. Her eyes blazed scarlet.
At that instant, Wood’s dimensional system suddenly chimed: "Beep... Virus source detected... Unknown life form... Exterminate!"
He cursed internally, "Damn useless system, why only now do you give a warning?"
But there was no time to bicker with the system. As the witch’s hair writhed toward them, Wood quickly took out a magic scroll and tossed it.
"Magic Shield—magical item. Effect: Within the limits of the shield, neutralizes all physical and mental damage. Duration: ten minutes."
Immediately, a transparent oval shield enveloped the group. The hair struck the barrier, making it shimmer and tremble as though on the verge of collapse. Wood was alarmed—this was a high-grade magical item, yet it could barely withstand her assault! He hurriedly threw another scroll—"Meteor Firestorm."
"Meteor Firestorm—magical item. Effect: High-level magic, inflicts extreme fire damage on the target."
Sure enough, as the scroll activated, the witch’s hair shrank back from the intense heat. Wood realized how dangerous she was; even with his body far superior to most, he could not keep up with her. Worse yet, he sensed she hadn’t even used her full strength. Now was the time to retreat.
After tossing the scroll, he and the others fell back to the elevator.

The woman roared amidst the flames, then lunged forth. Anticipating her speed, Wood fired a "Particle Beam" at her. Sensing the energy surge, she shielded her head with both arms. The blast pinned her to the wall, but failed to injure her. Seizing the moment, Wood and his companions retreated into the elevator, returning to the executive office.
But as they rushed to the next elevator, they remembered Wood had cut the building’s power earlier to stop the alarms. The elevators were useless.
Just then, a sharp crack sounded, followed by the witch’s eerie, sinister laughter echoing from behind.
Wood glanced around and spotted the stairwell beside the elevator. He growled, "Take the stairs!" and positioned himself to block the path. Mu Siyu called out, "Let me help you!" but Wood barked, "Go now! With your abilities, you’re no match for her! I’ll hold her off and escape after you!"
Hearing that he planned to flee as well, the women grew even more frightened and hurried down the stairs under Kong Yangyun’s lead.
"Hehehe! Darlings, you’d better hide well. It’s no fun if I catch you too easily!" the witch, clad in white and black, appeared before Wood as she spoke.
Empowered by his true energy, Wood flashed rapidly, the oscillation blade never leaving her side. Though the witch’s strength exceeded his, she was wary of his blade, and his speed kept her at bay—she could not best him immediately. The two fought fiercely, reducing the once-luxurious office to utter ruin.
Then, the witch let out a piercing howl, and her black hair thickened into vine-like whips, lashing at Wood. Forced to respond, he hurled one "Magic Shield" and "Meteor Firestorm" after another, then unleashed "Particle Beam" attacks to slow her pursuit, fleeing swiftly downstairs.
Outside, Kong Yangyun and the others had already started the "Puma." As soon as Wood leapt into the car, they sped toward the city’s outskirts. Yet, the zombies that had been wandering the city now converged at the witch’s call, blocking their escape.
Wood threw out "Frost Storm" and "Lightning Flash"—two advanced magic scrolls—while Kong Yangyun fired his submachine gun, finally clearing a path for their escape.
Looking back, they saw Xuezhu—white-clad and black-haired—standing proudly atop the high-rise, howling at the sky. She did not pursue, but merely watched them with cold, unblinking eyes.
