Chapter 78: Qin Xiaochuan's Fury Unleashed
Just as Qin Xiaochuan was overcome with shock, three voices suddenly echoed in his mind:
“Please… kill… us…”
“Kill… us… now…”
“We’re… sorry…”
Looking into their eyes, Qin Xiaochuan understood. The suffering and helplessness within these three people was immeasurable. They had been forced by the Doctor’s control to become murderers against their will. Powerless to stop their own bodies, manipulated by the blood tumors within them, they had watched themselves slaughter innocent lives. The pain in their hearts was worse than death itself. Witnessing their own hands harm those who once tried to save them, their souls bled and wept. Unable to command their own actions, they could only plead with their eyes, begging Qin Xiaochuan to free them, to end their torment and save them from the Doctor’s manipulation, to prevent them from committing further atrocious acts. Seeing their anguished gazes, Qin Xiaochuan stood momentarily paralyzed.
“Hahahahaha! That fool was finished off just like that—how utterly stupid!” Dr. Barry roared with laughter from the stands, pointing at Zhang Yang’s crumpled body on the ground. “To think he’d do something so foolish just to try to wake up a robot! You humans truly are laughable creatures, so easily ruled by emotion. Now he’s been struck down by my cyborgs—I doubt he’ll survive much longer! Hahahaha!”
Dr. Barry’s taunting words ignited an uncontrollable fury within Qin Xiaochuan. His aura flared, transformed by the inferno raging inside him. Never before had he felt such a desperate urge to kill someone. His emotions spiraled out of control, the fire within impossible to restrain. Slowly, Qin Xiaochuan rose, fixing his gaze on Dr. Barry below. “You deserve to die,” he said, his tone chilling to the bone—a death sentence pronounced upon a man who was already as good as dead in Qin Xiaochuan’s eyes.
No longer sparing a glance for the dead man, Qin Xiaochuan turned to the three cyborgs, who prayed for death. “You’ve become nothing but his puppets. Rather than continue living in misery under his control, death would be a kinder release…”
Sensing the shift in Qin Xiaochuan’s aura, the masked competitor was taken aback. He’d actually shattered his physical limits through sheer rage—if he lost control, his spiritual energy would go berserk. This kid was being reckless!
Facing the three modified warriors, Qin Xiaochuan raised his fist and, in a flash, launched himself at G-1, sending him flying with a crushing blow. Not only had his aura transformed, but his speed and strength had at least doubled. After knocking G-1 aside, Qin Xiaochuan saw G-3 raise his right hand, lunging to grab him.
But now, with his spiritual power heightened, Qin Xiaochuan could clearly see the energy swirling around G-3’s hand. Ducking low, he leapt backward, easily evading the attack. His movements showed none of the earlier desperation—he was as agile and effortless as a dancer.
Miss Ruoxi, standing on the arena platform, gasped in astonishment, her voice rising in commentary: “This is incredible! The situation has completely reversed! Look at Qin Xiaochuan’s movements—his earlier clumsy dodges now seem like an act. It’s unbelievable!”
“What?!” Dr. Barry’s confident smile vanished as he glanced at the numbers on his calculator. When Qin Xiaochuan’s abilities suddenly surged, he began recalculating the odds. After inputting the new data—Qin Xiaochuan’s agility and his unleashed spiritual energy—the victory rate dropped to only 54.7%, a drastic fall from the nearly 99.99% he’d previously computed. He was stunned. What had made this man, whom he had so thoroughly dismissed, suddenly become so dangerous? If this continued, his G Team might actually lose.
“Has your brilliant mind failed you?” someone taunted.
Hearing a voice directed at him, Dr. Barry looked up. At some point, White Shadow and Flying Flame had appeared before him, deliberately blocking his escape route.
White Shadow gazed at the sweating Dr. Barry with a hint of pity. “For all your textbook psychological warfare, you know nothing about what makes humans truly strong.”
“Impossible! My data simulation skills are unmatched, and so are my cyborgs! Dammit, something must be wrong somewhere!” Sweat poured down Dr. Barry’s face. He had never been so flustered. With the certainty of scientific calculation and confidence in his technology, how could things have been overturned by a human who was on the brink of defeat? He simply couldn’t understand it.
Backing away two steps, Dr. Barry shouted at his three cyborg warriors, still locked in combat with Qin Xiaochuan, “Enough! Kill them—kill them now!” He was clearly cornered, his earlier composure gone, wiping sweat from his brow with trembling hands.
Feeling the flow of spiritual energy within Qin Xiaochuan, the masked competitor darted among the G warriors. When she focused on his right arm, she realized the energy block at his index finger and arm had been cleared—his earlier rampage had forced the energy through. Now, he could fire his spiritual sphere unhindered.
Moreover, his outburst of rage had nearly doubled the capacity of his spiritual energy. She was amazed—anger had not only restored his right arm’s power but also accelerated his overall growth at a speed surpassing the effects of spiritual medicine. Indeed, real combat was the fastest way to enhance one’s abilities.
But as she looked upon the faces of the three G warriors entangled with Qin Xiaochuan, her resolve softened. Traces of blood and tears were etched upon their features, clear signs of their unwillingness to submit to the blood tumors’ control. Their eyes darted restlessly, fighting the commands forced upon them. Though their bodies were puppets, their spirits remained unbroken. To kill them now would be a hard thing to explain to her old friend from the Kill Immortal Sect.
As she hesitated, uncertain whether to free the three from their suffering, Qin Xiaochuan kicked G-1 to the ground. He raised his right hand, preparing to end one of the G warriors with a spiritual sphere. Perhaps, in his eyes, death was a mercy—his compassion expressed through a killing blow.
Seeing this, the masked competitor acted on instinct. She leapt to his side and seized his right hand. Just as he was about to fire, Qin Xiaochuan found his entire arm immobilized. He looked up to see her delicate hand resting lightly on his arm.
How could this be? He was stunned—her touch alone had completely neutralized his strength. Was this truly the power of the girl before him? If so, her abilities were terrifyingly beyond his own, by orders of magnitude.
Pulling him aside, the masked competitor drew Qin Xiaochuan away. Facing the three cyborgs, she said to him, “Step back. Let me handle the rest.”
Qin Xiaochuan was confused. Was she sparing him from the regret of killing these puppets herself? Why was she helping him—was it only because Master Jinghai had entrusted her with his care?
Without knowing exactly when, the masked competitor had covered her face once more. She had prevented Qin Xiaochuan from attacking, and now seemed intent on facing the three G warriors alone.
Miss Ruoxi, observing the sudden turn of events, hurried to narrate for the audience: “What a dramatic development! Zhang Yang lies defeated in the arena, Qin Xiaochuan has been stopped by the masked competitor, and now she appears ready to take on the G Team’s three warriors by herself. Everything is happening so fast—it’s hard to keep up!”
Watching the masked competitor prepare to strike, Dr. Barry was drenched in cold sweat. She wouldn’t dare kill those three—if she did, their deaths would be on her hands, and for a person of deep emotion, that would be more unbearable than her own death. Yes, that must be it. Laughing maniacally, Dr. Barry shouted, “There’s no way you’ll kill those three! Foolish human! If you do, you’ll carry a scar on your soul that will never heal. You won’t do it! You can’t!” Then, pointing at his three cyborgs, he commanded, “Go! It’s them who must die—kill them all!”
At their master’s command, the three warriors charged at the masked competitor. She looked at them with a trace of sorrow—her next technique would consume a staggering amount of spiritual energy. If she failed, the three would surely die, and her own reserves would be half depleted, affecting the battles ahead. Moreover, it had been nearly two decades since she last used this move—would it still work?
