Chapter 103: The White Shadow Revealed
“Waaah!!! Waaah, waaah, waaah!!! I’ve seen you... you... you... you’re a demon fox!!! The legendary demon fox, White Shadow!!! No wonder your name is so similar to his!!! So... you are him!!! Have mercy, sir! Please spare me! I was wrong! I beg you! Just treat me like a fart and let me go!!! Please!!!”
The little one, sitting on the ground, scrambled backward using both hands and feet upon seeing White Shadow's true form. It was utterly terrifying. Who would have thought that this guy’s past life was the legendary Shadow Thief King of the Demon Realm? His demonic aura was just as fearsome as before. When I used to roam the Demon Realm with Lord Ba, I once caught a distant glimpse of this dreadful figure. And now, here we are, face to face—how terrifying! Oh, my mother! I had hoped to make this fellow disappear completely, but I never imagined conjuring such a terrifying being in the process. This time, I’ve truly gone too far... Mother, save me! Oh heavens... I’m really in deep trouble now...
Until the smoke dissipates, this creature will remain in this form. Don’t even think about attacking—he could crush me with just his pinky finger. How could anyone survive against that? I have been utterly foolish! I regret this deeply!
Leaning against the protective barrier I set up behind me, I hurriedly stopped. Those sharp silver threads don’t discriminate between friend and foe. Although I arranged this barrier, unlike the smoke, which I could counteract by swallowing an antidote beforehand, this purely physical attack is impossible to break through without a specially forged sword to cut it. Otherwise, anything that touches the threads will be severed instantly.
I made it so dense originally to prevent White Shadow’s escape, but now there isn’t even a gap. I can barely crawl out through the smallest crack! Oh heavens, oh heavens! No wonder their names were the same. It turns out White Shadow’s past life was the supreme Shadow Thief King of the Demon Realm! How unlucky I am! I’m doomed, doomed, doomed...
“Come then! It’s time to punish naughty children!” White Shadow, who had restored his true form, spoke coldly to the little one, who had already soaked the ground beneath him. “As a reward for me returning to my true self, how would you like to die?”
“Oh God!!! Save me!!! I don’t want to die!!! I was wrong... Please spare me!!! Spare me!!!”
Hearing White Shadow’s icy words, the little one, terrified beyond measure, ignored the wet patch beneath him, flipped over, knelt on the ground, and repeatedly kowtowed to the killing god before him, as if making a final apology for his reckless actions.
But this demon fox White Shadow was no longer the reincarnated mortal boy Luffy. His cold, emotionless gaze radiated an air of disdainful authority, as if all living beings must bow before him to earn his final mercy. His silvery hair, as bright as strands of silver, fell gracefully over his chest and back, parted by two large, fluffy, adorable ears standing upright atop his head. As his demonic aura expanded, it floated gently around his body. His loose, pristine white robe draped over his perfect figure, revealing skin smoother and more delicate than a woman's. At this moment, White Shadow was truly a demon god descended directly from the Demon Realm. Standing on the arena, his deadly, all-consuming gaze mercilessly bore down on the little one kowtowing on the ground. The icy cold in his eyes made it impossible for anyone to meet his gaze directly.
Indeed, this White Shadow was the very same Shadow Thief King who once dominated the Demon Realm, arrogantly defying all others—the legendary thief who had once escaped the relentless pursuit of the Five Spirit Generals of the Spirit Realm with ease.
“Truly... it’s hard to believe!” After sensing the terrifying demonic aura on stage, Zhang Yang’s brow furrowed, beads of cold sweat breaking out on his forehead. “How can such a powerful demonic aura exist! Is this... the true power of White Shadow?”
“Isn’t it obvious?” Fixing his eyes on the figure on stage, Feiyan’s gaze grew excited despite the oppressive terror that made a bead of cold sweat trickle down his forehead. The urge to challenge White Shadow surged within him. “I didn’t expect this guy to possess such a terrifying hidden strength. I’d really love to test my skills against him!”
“You... you scoundrel!”
Ignoring Zhang Yang’s suspicion, Feiyan recalled how he and Shigui had first seen White Shadow.
“Are you White Shadow?” Shigui crossed his arms with disdain as he looked at the human form before him. “The White Shadow I heard about was called the Shadow Thief King—ruthless, with silver long hair and a terrifying demonic aura. But from you, I feel none of that. You’re nothing but a weak human, like a sprout clinging to the remnants of consciousness. Pathetic. Let me show you what the real terrifying form looks like! Otherwise, how can I believe you?”
“That won’t do,” White Shadow retorted sharply. “It’s not ‘clinging’ but ‘fusion.’ I am both White Shadow and Luffy. If I were my former self, you wouldn’t even have the right to speak to me here!”
“What?! Don’t make me laugh, Feiyan!” Shigui turned to Feiyan, growing angry. “Stealing those three treasures from the Netherworld Treasury was dangerous business. If you slip up, the Spirit Realm will hunt you down. I wouldn’t risk my neck for some immature brat. What do you say, Feiyan?”
“If you’ve got the guts, why don’t you try it?” Feiyan’s interest was piqued as he stared at White Shadow. He had heard tales of the Shadow Thief King since he could remember. This guy was said to be his reincarnation, but he seemed so weak now. Still, he wouldn’t risk fighting unless he was one hundred percent certain of victory. Though this fellow appeared frail, Feiyan sensed a faint but ominous danger within him, one that made him cautious. “But I’d be willing to team up with whoever survives our fight!”
“Good idea! Haven’t seen any blood in a while—my hands have been itching!” Shigui cracked his knuckles, his eyes gleaming with challenge. He didn’t mind fighting this fragile human. If a fight started, he wanted White Shadow to strike first. The demonic aura felt like that of a newborn infant; a hundred punches from him wouldn’t hurt as much as a finger poke. Shigui sneered, eager to see how this self-proclaimed Shadow Thief King would move.
“Indeed, my demonic aura is far weaker than before!” White Shadow’s gaze turned icy as a terrifying aura of contempt radiated from his body, enveloping him entirely. Facing Shigui, he spoke with chilling resolve, “But here lies something worth dying to protect. This sense of mission might make me stronger than ever. So, what? You want to test me?”
“No... no... hehe... hehe... you see, I’m just joking... hehe,” Shigui took a step back, unnerved by the cold, deathlike glint in White Shadow’s eyes and the chilling aura that made his skin crawl. This was truly the Shadow Thief King? Reincarnated and still this powerful? If he had attacked recklessly, he might have died just now. Wiping the cold sweat from his forehead, Shigui forced a sly smile and said, “Alright... let’s... let’s be friends and get along! Hehe!”
Feiyan continued to observe the demon fox White Shadow on stage, recalling how he always sensed a faint danger from him. So this was the true aura of the Shadow Thief King of the Demon Realm. It seemed White Shadow never lied back then. His strength wasn’t in his outward appearance but in the deeply hidden true nature within him. This must be his ultimate power. I really want to challenge you, White Shadow!
“Well then, how shall I deal with you? Very well...”
White Shadow reached behind his head, pulling out a tiny seed from his silver hair. Holding it in his palm, he infused it with demonic energy. The small seed sprouted rapidly, wrapping around his arm like the tentacles of an octopus. From its base, tendrils extended, each ending in a carnivorous mouth lined with sharp, piranha-like teeth. These mouths continuously dripped with ravenous saliva and reached out toward the little one lying on the ground. If not for White Shadow controlling it with his demonic energy, this terrifying plant would have already pounced and shredded the little one.
“Let this demon-eating plant devour you!”
