After the day's training ended, Lin Tian sat on the floor, gasping heavily and continuously rubbing his chest, still sore from being bumped by Jordan earlier. Suddenly, Brown approached and said, “Rookie, go grab us a few bottles of Gatorade! I'll be waiting for you in the locker room.”

“Don’t you have legs? Can’t you get it yourself?” Lin Tian shot Brown a sideways glance, not intending to move at all.

“You’re the rookie, I’m the veteran! Fetching water is part of your job. Are you sure you won’t go?” Brown sneered arrogantly, reminding Lin Tian of a traitor from his school days who liked to snitch on others to the teachers.

“Fine, fine, I’ll get it for you.”

Wennington, who was standing nearby, quickly rose and smiled, “Lin, help me out, will you?”

Just as Lin Tian was about to lose his temper, he shook his head helplessly. This nice guy always liked to get involved in pointless things.

Lin Tian had no choice but to stand up. He and Wennington got along well, and their pick-and-roll coordination was improving. He couldn’t afford to lose face in front of everyone.

“See? I told you, rookies are still rookies. Acting all tough, but still have to be our errand boys,” Brown boasted to his two buddies as Lin Tian turned to fetch the water.

“If you say one more word, I promise what you’ll taste won’t just be Gatorade, but the bottle and the toilet paper I use to wipe my ass!” Lin Tian spun back around, raised his middle finger at Brown, and said, “Don’t try that rookie-veteran nonsense on me. Trash like you doesn’t deserve it!”

Lin Tian wanted to say more, but Wennington quickly grabbed him by the neck, lifted him almost off the floor, and dragged him away!

There was no resisting; Lin Tian’s strength simply wasn’t enough. Wennington was a 213-centimeter interior powerhouse, and Lin Tian couldn’t fight back without hurting him.

“Lin, you need to control your temper. You can’t start fights in training camp!”

“No, fighting anywhere is bad! Don’t fight, seriously!”

“Fighting will make you lose your spot on the team.”

“Or I can talk to Phil and have him warn Brown and the others.”

“Maybe you should soften up to Michael. If you’re sincere enough, I think he’d listen.”

“Or find Scott? I think he likes you and might back you up!”

“Luke and I get along well, but he’s just an ordinary starter. He probably can’t handle those guys.”

“Lin…”

“Bill! Please, can you just stop talking?” From the training court to the water corner to the locker room, Wennington’s mouth never stopped! Lin Tian suspected this guy must have been reborn too, except he was mute in his past life and now was making up for all the nonsense he never said.

“I’m just trying to help you, listen to me, Lin…”

Seeing Wennington about to go on, Lin Tian pushed open the locker room door and walked inside first.

His head ached. He’d rather spar with Jordan for ten more rounds than listen to Wennington lecture him.

But as soon as he entered the locker room, the atmosphere felt strange.

The noisy locker room instantly fell silent. The Bulls’ iron triangle wasn’t around. Among the starters, only Haber was sitting there changing clothes.

When Lin Tian walked in, Kukoc looked apologetic. “Lin, don’t be mad. When I got here, they had already gone to the showers.”

Lin Tian’s eye twitched. He noticed Brown and his two lackeys, Kafi and Harry, were all missing from the locker room.

He set down the box of Gatorade and headed straight for the showers.

Everyone else in the locker room immediately sprang up.

Many ran toward the showers, eager to see the commotion.

Lin Tian entered and saw his entire outfit soaked by those three, and Harry was cutting his leather shoes into four pieces with scissors.

“What are you doing?” Lin Tian’s tone was as calm as possible.

He wasn’t losing his temper—instead, he took a deep breath and began to plan.

He was calculating how to beat these three scumbags so thoroughly that they’d question their own lives before anyone else could step in to break up the fight.

He didn’t want to throw a few punches and then get pulled apart by a crowd.

“Just kidding, rookie! This is a gift for you. Like it?” Brown smirked, throwing the drenched clothes at Lin Tian. “Hope this gift helps you show respect when talking to the veterans in the future!”

“Not bad, I kinda like it,” Lin Tian glanced at his clothes, shrugged, and said, “I’ll give you all a gift too.”

Saying that, Lin Tian turned and walked out of the showers.

“See? I told you the kid chickened out! Bet he’s going to cry to Klaus or Phil! Just a fake tough guy, a spineless loser!” Brown sneered, convinced he had won.

“Lin, don’t be mad. I’ll help you sort this out. I’ll tell Luke to help us get justice.”

“Lin, I’ll talk to Phil. I’m sure he’ll come up with the perfect solution!”

Kukoc and Wennington followed Lin Tian out, comforting him worriedly, not wanting him to feel wronged.

The onlookers all let out bored boos. They expected Lin Tian to stand up and put on a show but he didn’t even utter a harsh word. Instead, he wanted to give those three a gift?

This kid was useless—just all talk.

Just looked tough.

As everyone filed out of the showers, only the troublemakers remained inside. Lin Tian glanced at his watch.

5:31 PM.

Then, with S+ level speed, he suddenly dashed back into the showers and slammed the door shut behind him!

While closing the door, he wedged a mop against it, locking it completely!

Anyone outside wanting to break in would take at least three minutes!

Enough time for him to finish his business!

“What are you doing?” Harry, still unaware of what was coming, raised the two broken halves of Lin Tian’s shoe and walked toward him. “I’ll get you a new pair. How about 9-cent plastic slippers? Those fit your vibe better! Or, I could give one to your mother too…”

That sentence was Harry’s last clear and complete phrase for tonight, and probably for the next half month!
