Chapter 8: A Bloody Profit!
Page 1/3
Han Xing was speechless. He had indeed exchanged a few heated words with Levi just now, but he hadn’t expected the man to be so petty as to block him on the local network. However, when he saw that they planned to blacklist him and refuse to trade resources with him, Han Xing couldn’t help but smile.
He opened the consignment channel and listed an item for sale.
Within seconds of listing, the entire Channel 107 was electrified.
Consignment item information: [Space Backpack – White], seller’s required item: any blue equipment blueprint.
Seller: Xinghe.
In the chat channel, voices erupted.
“Holy crap! A Space Backpack?”
“Who’s this godly player getting such a powerful item so fast?”
“The seller’s name is Xinghe. Isn’t that the guy Levi’s group just tagged, saying they want to blacklist him?”
...
The atmosphere on the local network grew tense.
Then someone exclaimed, “Wait, the godly player just posted more items!”
“Wow... rare-quality iron arrows, and a large amount of wolf meat!”
“So much wolf meat! Check what he wants in exchange!”
“Green equipment blueprints, beast hides, spirit cores, plus water and refined iron! Whoever has these, go trade with the god!”
As Han Xing continued listing items, Levi’s group suddenly fell silent. Even if they wanted to speak, their messages were quickly drowned out by the flood of chat.
The main reason was that the items Han Xing offered were overwhelmingly powerful. The Space Backpack needed no introduction—it was a reward for the first kill server-wide. Although Han Xing now had better ones, to most players, this was a near-mythical artifact.
Then there were the fine-quality iron arrows, each arrow’s attack power rivaling that of a main weapon—an astounding concept. Even the least perceptive could see their strength. The special effect attached made those who hadn’t chosen the hunter class green with envy.
Han Xing also consigned 10 kilograms of wolf meat, one of the most urgently needed resources. The chat channel immediately exploded with frantic bidding.
“Hahaha! I got one! Traded a beast hide for an iron arrow!”
“Me too! Exchanged five spirit cores for 300g of wolf meat. Finally something to eat, woo!”
“Guys, is trading ten refined iron for an iron arrow a total steal or what?”
“...”
The fervor in the chat lasted until Han Xing’s consigned items were all traded, then gradually subsided.
Only the [Space Backpack] remained untraded, as blue equipment blueprints were extremely rare—there might not even be one in the entire Channel 107 at this early stage.

In a floating island territory, a burly middle-aged man’s face darkened as he watched the local network messages.
This man was Levi, head of the Levi Group.
He observed the messages in his discussion group.
Someone cautiously asked, “Boss Levi, is this kid Xinghe trying to challenge us?”
Levi snorted coldly, saying nothing more, but silently committed the name Xinghe to memory.
...
Han Xing looked over the dazzling array of items on the floating island territory, barely able to hide a smile.
[Obtained Spirit Cores*17, One-star Beast Hide*3, Refined Iron*32, Aether*108, Drinking Water 400ml...]
These were the materials Han Xing had exchanged for four iron arrows and 10 kilograms of wolf meat—a truly profitable trade!
Though 10 kilograms of wolf meat seemed like a large price, Han Xing knew that converting these resources into combat power would yield even greater returns.
Initially, he intended to trade this food for resources he needed, then use those to craft stronger gear, creating a virtuous cycle of empowerment.
As for suppressing Levi Group’s members, that was merely a side effect; Han Xing didn’t take them seriously.
Somewhat regrettably, he hadn’t managed to snag a green equipment blueprint this round, but that was understandable—other survivors weren’t foolish, and few held green blueprints at this early stage.
“Let me see... With these materials, I can craft eleven ‘Refined Iron Arrows’ and three Space Backpacks!”
“Not bad at all.” Han Xing applauded his own progress.
He then promptly crafted all the items in one go.
Green and white glows flashed in quick succession.
When the crafting success notification appeared, Han Xing was somewhat surprised by the attributes of the Space Backpack.
[Space Backpack (White), Quality – Fine, Storage Capacity – 30, Special Effect – Robust (Strength +4)]
Unlike the previous backpack, this one’s special effect added four points of Strength. Han Xing checked the other two backpacks: one also boosted Strength, the other increased Agility.
“Oh? The backpack’s special effect randomly increases one of the four attributes?”
Han Xing equipped the backpack that increased Agility and instantly felt a peculiar surge of power within his body.
His Agility had increased.
“Though only two backpacks can be equipped, it still boosts stats significantly. Should handle normal Level 1 wild monsters without trouble.”
“Too bad I didn’t find a good weapon.” Han Xing felt a slight twinge of regret but shook his head, deciding not to dwell on it.
As for what to do with the extra two backpacks, Han Xing pondered briefly before opening the discussion group.
As soon as he entered, Cheng Jianyong was shouting loudly.
“Brothers, I think I found treasure!”
“What is it?” Shen Yun asked.

Cheng Jianyong chuckled and said bluntly, “A Bronze Chest!”
“Damn!”
Both Han Xing and Shen Yun were stunned.
Based on Han Xing’s understanding of the game Sky Island Paradise, chests were divided into five tiers: Wooden Chest, Bronze Chest, Silver Chest, Gold Chest, and Diamond Chest.
Finding a chest on an unclaimed floating island was rare, especially in the early game—seeing even a Wooden Chest was considered lucky.
And Cheng Jianyong had just found a Bronze Chest outright—extreme luck!
Shen Yun said, “Quick, open it and see what’s inside!”
“Alright!” Cheng Jianyong responded eagerly.
Han Xing and Shen Yun waited quietly, then suddenly heard Cheng Jianyong shout, “It’s out! I got it!”
“Damn it! What did you get?” Shen Yun demanded, “Tell us quickly!”
“Good stuff!” Cheng Jianyong immediately posted the item information into the discussion group.
[Spirit Cores*4, Refined Iron*8, Rare Earth*13, Dried Beast Meat*7kg, Drinking Water 400ml, Refined Iron Longbow Blueprint (Green)]
“Whoa!!!”
Reading the list, Han Xing and Shen Yun both gasped.
Shen Yun said, “Forget the materials and food for now, even a green weapon blueprint! This guy’s luck is insane...”
Han Xing nodded. “Indeed...”
Hearing their praise, Cheng Jianyong laughed heartily.
Then, Han Xing suddenly received a trade request from Cheng Jianyong.
“Brother Xing, this is the longbow blueprint. I’m a warrior, Yun’s a cleric; neither of us can use it, so you take it first.”
Shen Yun said nothing; everyone knew just how precious a green weapon blueprint was in the early game.
Levi had dared to ask exorbitant prices for blank weapon blueprints. If Cheng Jianyong’s green blueprint appeared in the trade channel, it would cause a major stir.
But some things couldn’t be measured by value alone.
Han Xing thought for a moment, then clicked accept.
[Obtained Refined Iron Longbow Blueprint (Green)]
He immediately opened it to learn the blueprint; now he had four blueprints in his collection.
Then Han Xing initiated trade offers with both of them.
When Cheng Jianyong and Shen Yun saw the items Han Xing placed in the trade window, they both shouted in unison:
“Holy crap!”
