Section 003: Blue Achievement Unlocked—“The Disciplined One”! The First Baptism!
You flailed your arms and legs with all your might. Today’s goal achieved. Current progress for [Strong Baby]: 30/30... You have successfully completed the achievement task and earned the White Achievement — Strong Baby.
[Strong Baby (White)]: When equipped, grants +0.5 vitality per day...
"Achievement unlocked!"
Since birth, Xu Ran had been disciplined for a whole month, to the point even he found it frightening—
Day one after birth: disciplined.
Day two after birth: disciplined.
Day three after birth: disciplined.
Day thirty after birth: still disciplined.
"My success today is all thanks to discipline! Grinding this Dao Lord system, give me some points!"
He murmured to himself.
Xu Ran smiled happily, proudly equipping the [Strong Baby] achievement.
[You have equipped the Strong Baby achievement. Vitality +0.5... Current vitality: 1.0/100...]
[Innate Baptism Task]: Your vitality increases, triggering the Innate Baptism task—when vitality reaches 100 points, you may undergo your first Innate Baptism to increase your maximum life limit.
[Achievement Upgrade Task]: Continue being disciplined for 100 days to upgrade the [Strong Baby] achievement to [Disciplined Baby]...
[Disciplined Baby (Blue)]: When equipped, grants +1 vitality per day...
...
"So it’s a chain upgrade achievement task. Alright, alright."
Xu Ran was pleasantly surprised and smiled knowingly, then closed his eyes to sleep.
Because he was sleeping so soundly, his mother Lin Qian woke up from time to time, reaching out to check his breath, worried he might be dead...
...
In the days that followed,
Xu Ran upheld the supreme life philosophy: “Discipline is the best cosmetic treatment for men.”
Every day, he was fiercely disciplined.
And because he wore the [Strong Baby] achievement, his vitality steadily increased.
A month passed in the blink of an eye.
On the sixtieth day,
Xu Ran and his mother moved from the confinement center to a martyr’s family apartment three kilometers away.
The same young security guard sister helped carry their belongings, while his mother only needed to push Xu Ran’s baby stroller.
Through the stroller’s mesh cover, Xu Ran could see the outside world—buildings looking much like they did in his past life.
Soldiers dressed in combat uniforms marched in orderly formations, coming and going.
Lin Qian glanced at the soldiers hurrying about as if preparing for war and couldn’t help but ask the security guard sister, “Sister, what’s going on?”
The guard sighed, “Another alien planet has opened a spatial node with our Blue Star and is invading.”
Lin Qian was shocked, “Another alien world invading us?”
The guard replied, “Yes. These aliens are extremely strange semi-energy beings. Cultivators call them Ghosts. The high-level ghosts are skilled in illusion-type supernatural abilities—so eerie they send chills down humans’ spines...”
...
“But sadly, the Foreign Church Federation and the Light Federation refuse to resist and instead invite the wolves in, polluting Blue Star. More and more ghosts are being born locally…”
Hearing this, Lin Qian’s expression grew grave. “The war between humans and the Crystal Beast planet lasted two hundred years. The invasion from the Vengeful God planet forced a noble Martial God to self-destruct to seal the spatial node. Now a new alien invasion? Can Blue Star really withstand so many disasters?”
She thought of her husband and couldn’t hold back her tears.
The guard’s mood was low. “Sigh, there’s no choice. Blue Star’s coordinates have been exposed. Invasions will only increase from now on.”
Xu Ran, listening intently in the stroller, was stunned: “...!!!...???...”
What’s going on?
What’s going on?
A third planet is invading? And they’re ghosts?
Terrifying!
“But don’t worry, ma’am. The Combat Officer Hospital and affiliated safe zone have reinforced defenses to ensure your safety as much as possible.”
Lin Qian smiled gently, “Thank you.”
The guard straightened up, “It’s our duty!”
...
Soon, they arrived at their new home.
The new place had three bedrooms and two living rooms, with larger rooms and a man-made lake inside the community, making it more comfortable.
However,
Xu Ran was only two months old and could only stay home and be disciplined.
[Day 61 of infancy, current vitality: 16/100...]
“Vitality is growing so fast. At just two months old, it’s already higher than an average adult!”
Xu Ran couldn’t help but sigh.
Moreover, his height had soared. At two months, he was already 65 centimeters tall. In just two months, he had grown 14 centimeters—from 51 to 65 cm—equivalent to a four-month-old infant in the New Era!
Soon, he might even try crawling!
“Are you dancing, baby?”
His mother looked at him gently, rubbing her cheek against Xu Ran’s chest to coax a smile.
Xu Ran laughed while waving his arms and legs.
“Don’t get too tired, alright? Play a bit, then sleep.”
His mother softly patted him. After more than two months of care, she was extremely reassured by her little treasure.
Xu Ran never cried at night. When he needed to poop, he clapped his hands and whined softly, making him easy to care for. As long as she fed him formula on time and checked on him occasionally, he was a perfect baby!
Who wouldn’t love such a good child?
The only worry was Xu Ran’s boundless energy; every day he waved his arms and legs wildly.
She asked Dr. Chen more than once, and his reply was: “As long as no abnormalities are found, this is normal. The more lively, the healthier. Now that it’s the New Era and spiritual energy is abundant, it’s natural for babies to be stronger and healthier.”
...
“But this is too healthy, isn’t it?”
Her right eyelid twitched—something felt off.
[You flail your arms and legs with all your strength. Today’s discipline achieved. Current Disciplined Baby progress: 31/100...]
A little progress each day!
Life was sweeter and sweeter!
Comfortable!
Xu Ran stopped being disciplined, his face breaking into an adorable smile.
Every day after was the same,
Discipline, eat, sleep, discipline.
In the blink of an eye, it was the 131st day of infancy.
A special milestone—exactly 100 days of discipline.
[You flail your arms and legs with all your strength. Today’s discipline achieved. Current [Disciplined Baby] progress: 100/100... Full value reached, automatically upgraded to [Disciplined Baby (Blue)]: When equipped, grants +1 vitality per day...]
[Current vitality: 66/100...]
When the crisp, pleasant notification sounded in his mind,
Xu Ran’s mood soared to the highest.
“Now I can gain 1 vitality point per day! In just 34 more days, I can complete the first Innate Baptism to increase my life limit!”
“The Disciplined Baby achievement doesn’t have any upgrade tasks left?”
Xu Ran raised an eyebrow slightly.
He thought it might keep upgrading to a golden achievement.
Looks like golden achievements aren’t so easy to come by.
“Good thing I was smart and got the golden achievement [Heavenly Talent] in just thirteen days, or I’d definitely regret it.”
“So from now on, every golden achievement must be grabbed with all my might.”
Xu Ran earnestly took note.
...
Infancy passed in a flash.
Thirty-four days later,
His mother, tired from a day of childcare, slept soundly in the big bed. The room was pitch dark, no lights on. To avoid outside light disturbing Xu Ran, she had closed the curtains tightly.
In the baby crib, a pair of dark eyes suddenly snapped open.
The clear, pleasant notification sounded in his mind.
[Disciplined Baby effect activated. Vitality +1. Current vitality: 100/100. Full value reached. Limit must be raised to continue increasing.]
[Infant vitality has reached 100. You may now undergo the first Innate Baptism. The limit will increase after the baptism. Proceed with Innate Baptism? Yes/No.]
